Ian McCormack shares his near-death experience. One night while diving for lobster on the small Island of Mauritius Ian was stung on his forearm by 5 Box-Jellyfish, which the local Creole fishermen called “Invisibles.” A sting from a Box-Jellyfish often proves to be fatal – as exemplified in Australia where 70 people are known to have died from their stings. Many books quote this particular type of Jellyfish to be among the most venomous creatures in the world. Ian had been traveling around the world for 2 years leaving New Zealand in 1980 at the age of 24. And in April 1982 at the age of 26 was stung by these Jellyfish.

By the time an ambulance arrived his body was totally paralyzed and necrosis had begun to set into his bone marrow. En route to the hospital, Ian began to see his life flash before him. At this point of his life, he was an atheist – but knew he was nearly dead and didn’t know if there was life after death or whether there was just nothing. As Ian lay there dying, he saw his mother in a vision praying for him. She was encouraging him to cry out to God from his heart so that God would hear him and forgive him. (Ian’s mother was the only Christian in his family.) He didn’t know what to pray and cried out that if God was real, could He help me to pray. Immediately God showed him the Lord’s Prayer, and for the first time in his life, Ian prayed from his heart and gave his life to the Lord.

I’m not saying Ian didn’t hear voices but the fact that they wanted him to say the Lord’s Prayer is the giveaway that the voices were not from God! Every Bible student knows that Jesus taught that prayer to his disciples BEFORE he went to the cross WHILE the Jews were still UNDER the LAW! After Christ sacrificed himself for all sin for all time, then and only then was salvation offered by grace through faith in the Son of God and his work at Calvary. Many don’t understand that before he went to the cross, Jesus actually went about Israel making their laws even HARDER to keep in an effort to bring them to a place of realizing they needed a Saviour! Those laws were for them at that time — NOT Us; we are saved by the grace of God not by keeping the Law! Think about it! Ian’s idea that “if we don’t forgive others, your Father in heaven will not forgive you!” Is that how OUR salvation works today? If you believe that, you are yet in your sins and of all people most miserable for that is not OUR GOSPEL! Who told Ian to pray a prayer completely contrary to the grace that Jesus’ death and resurrection bought us? I think you know — and therein lies the truth of who gives the unsaved all manner of supernatural experiences in order to seal their fate, unless they wake up from their strong delusion; and any Christian that understands that but continues supporting this deception will suffer loss of rewards in heaven. We have God’s finished inspired word and should not be seeking extra-biblical information because the powers of darkness will provide it.

Psychologists who reviewed a range of Phenomena such as Out-of-Body Experiences, Visions of Tunnels of Light or Encounters with Dead Relatives, say they are Tricks of the Mind rather than a Glimpse of the Afterlife.

Researchers at the Universities of Edinburgh and Cambridge say that Most of the Experiences can be Explained by a Reaction in the Brain Prompted by a Traumatic and sometimes Harmless Event.

The Researchers say that many common Near-Death Experiences are the brain’s Attempt to make Sense of Unusual Sensations and Perceptions Occurring During a Traumatic Event.

Out-of-Body Experiences, for example, Happen when there is a Breakdown in the Brain’s Multi-Sensory Processes, and Visions of Tunnels and Bright Lights stem from a Breakdown in the Brain’s Visual System caused by Oxygen Deprivation.

The new study also points to the Effects of Noradrenaline, a Hormone released by the Mid-Brain which, when Triggered, may Evoke Positive Emotions, Hallucinations and other Features of the Near-Death Experience.

The Scientific Evidence suggests that all Aspects of the Near-Death Experience have a “Biological Basis”.

Science has proven Religion and its Teachings to be Wrong and Out Dated. From the Earth being the center of the universe, Earth being flat, Exorcisms, Salem Witches, and the list go's on and on. As time moves forward Science continues to prove that ancient teachings are not to be true.

I grew up in the episcopal church and was even an acolyte at a young age.
At the age of 12 this boy I had a crush on challenged my beliefs and eventually convinced me there was no God and I became an atheist. Around the age of 15 I started to experiment with drugs, and my life started to go really downhill. At age 18 I was with some friends and I tried this drug known as "DMT" which is known to give people near death like and spiritual experiences. I had an out of body experience and I heard Gods voice in that moment. All i heard was "I exist". It was so loud, and so clear. From that day on I became "spiritual" and was no longer an atheist, but I did not quite come back to Christianity. I got into new-ageism and even witchcraft. My life spiraled down even further than where it had been before. It wasn't until I recently that I repented of all my sins and am starting to come to really know Jesus for the first time in my life. I am 28 years old. This testimony made me cry multiple times. God is so gracious, he is so good, so forgiving and loving. For all the horrible things I've done in my life I can't comprehend how at the drop of a pin God took me back into his loving arms. I am so so grateful for his love and forgiveness.

I appreciated this testimony, I believe this was an honest account to this man, but there are some issues with his understanding that I feel I should point out. First of all, Acts 26:18 says this "To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me." Not what he says it says, which was that there is a kingdom of hell ruled by Satan and a kingdom of heaven ruled by Satan. Secondly, in His account of his experience in the ambulance, he focuses far to much on man's reaching out to God and not nearly enough of God reaching out to man through Jesus Christ. I don't believe this man is lying at all, but nevertheless we need to apply sound doctrine to it, which is that no human ever was or will be saved by their works of "righteousness" but only by faith in what Jesus did. This is extremely clear in scripture and to disagree is to call the New Testament ministry a false ministry. Which brings me to my third point, which is that the word "repent" in the greek means to change ones mind, not feel sorry about your sins. When we believe (and are simultaneously saved instantly and permanently) we change our minds about Jesus Christ and what He accomplished. Man is justified, sanctified, and will be glorified based on the existence of faith alone, no works, ever. This is the gospel unadulterated by man's thoughts.

Anyways, great testimony and I really appreciated that this man does clearly know the gospel, this is evidenced when he is talking about "all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God" which is a quote from Romans, and he also said he believes only Jesus kept the 10 commandments, which is 100 percent correct. I also loved how the speaker quotes 1rst John where scripture says perfect love casts out fear, and you can tell he understands the context of that verse from the way he discusses it, not just using it in isolation for his own purpose. Thanks for sharing this! I commented this to help keep our consciences clear and not stumble anyone who is in Christ. The blood of Christ cleanses us from all unrighteousness and we are to have our consciences be cleansed, and the only way to do this is to keep our doctrine crystal clear. Giving your life to Jesus does nothing, Jesus giving His life for you (and your belief in Him) does everything. I say this not to discourage being wise in this life, but to keep our ducks in a row and to give glory to God and not to ourselves. Glory to Jesus He lived a perfect life and pur faith in Him is COUNTED FOR RIGHTEOUSNESS (right standing with God). There is now nothing between us and God because of what Jesus did, we are free in Him! ♥️♥️♥️♥️

Edit (the further I get in this video the more this guy makes himself clearer and clearer that he is a believer and understands the gospel clearly) praise Jesus, and thanks for being trustworthy with the wonderful gospel of peace dear speaker!!

You die. You float above yer body. You go thru a loonnng dark tunnel and then, you meet up with what people call "a being of Light". Most say they feel an Incredible love coming from this being and believe that its Jesus. BUT-~~-(here comes the odd part)-~~

We have THOUSANDS of "testimonies" like this, and yet—

NOT ONE PERSON bothers, ever!, to Ask the being of Light:

1. What is this "tunnel" we are in now? Why can I only see you? Where are my dead relatives? Why can't I see them?

2. Who are YOU?? ARE you Jesus? (yes, this could being of Light could Lie, but still)…

3. ASK the being of Light: IS Jesus, Lord? and the Only begotten Son of God?

4. (to the being of Light): Who is over and above you?

5. (to the being of Light): Who do YOU serve? Do you Love Jesus?

It boggles my mind that NO ONE asks any of this! and then—-when people come back, almost none of them go to church anymore. Isn't THAT a "Red Flag??" Instead, they go around acting joyful and bragging about how they dont fear death anymore….but how have they gotten CLOSER to God? When do they read their Bibles anymore? Share this.

The problem is if you never had the totally unexplainable happen to you, then you have no basis to believe this man!

I have and it continues to this day! It has transformed my life from one of day to day drudgery into life becoming magical for me! God will do this for you in his own time and way! Patience truly is a great gift!

I believe Eon! You can see wether you believe what he says or not, it transformed him into a loving really decent guy! The story he tells is not nearly as important as the transformation he under went! Jesus will change you…. That is a promise! Just thinking about God will change you…. Praying and acting upon the prayer as if he already has come to pass will make you a new man…. That is a promise too!
