My trailer almost ran me over today! Near death experience!

Jul 2024 12

I had a real close call with the grim reaper today! My own trailer almost took me out! I did a risky thing with it and lived to tell about it!

I'm a farmer so I know all about people doing questionable things for a variety of reasons. Usually you get away with it but every once in a while you don't. I had a neighbor try to jump on his tractor as it started rolling down a hill and he's no longer with us as a result. Just have to keep in mind that equipment is always replaceable or fixable and probably even insured. The tough part is telling yourself that when the unexpected moment comes!

That was a close call 😰
Cheese and rice, I bet you’ll use a wheel chock next time.
    That’s internet smarts talking. 😂

Oh yeah happen to me, only took me 1 time to learn to keep it connected to something when tilting all the way up. Then again same thing happened when i was hooked up to my 4 door duramax that weighs 8600LBS I was parked on ice. The whole truck and trailer slid 12 foot forwards in park.

I thought from the thumbnail and intro your truck was angled to the right, but now I see that you disconnected it, there were no chocks under the trailer wheels, and the trailer actually moved because it was pushing off of the load that was already on the ground when you kept raising the bed. Glad you didn't get run over or your truck hit. Those red boots are cool.

That worked mint other than just about hitting your truck just like if it was hooked up

    Holy dump, Batman!

I bought some super long jumper cables that would reach while hooked up. Expensive but well worth it. Company out of alaska

Typicaly those batteries charge slow as hell via a truck. You really need to plug them in to a 120v outlet.

Dang son. Lesson learned. Don’t unhook the trailer and if you truly have to chock the wheels. At least now we know that you truly love that truck. You volunteered your life to save the truck.

Count your blessings, I thought it was going to hit the truck. Stay safe. I enjoy your videos.

Are we not going to talk about the near death experience 😳

  15. #15

Never, NEVER get in front of runaway equipment. You will NOT stop it. But it can most certainly stop you.

  16. #16

That was scarry, thanks for sharing, that is how we all learn!

  17. #17

The cats were happy to come inside and in return they gave you one of their 45 lives they have together when the trailer come at you, that looked a bit scary.

  18. #18

Things can happen pretty quick glad you’re all right God bless

For all of us that have similar trailers, make a note. Thanks for this post Chris, and we thank God you were not harmed!

That can happen well hitch to truck. If the ground is slippery or something heavy enough comes sliding out it will push the truck. Expecially if the truck is at an angle to the trialer on ice or snow.

All those cats in there you know what the bundles are going to smell like lol

hi, the bad battery thing, I think it happens to you all too often, take the power from the car, we do it or put it there so you charge the battery when you drive,

  24. #24

You almost became a wheel chock!

Quite a rookie mistake with the trailer for someone who shouldn't be a rookie.

I once watched an actual rookie with a 26 foot uhaul and a tow dolly with a Ford mustang try to unload the car after they disconnected the hitch. Thankfully both them and you made it out ok.

Hey Chris: Glad you didn’t get hurt. I found switching Synthetic 5W-40 engine oil in the tractor made it start much easier in cold weather.

  27. #27

Not only Chris did you see your life Flash before your eyes you also saw a new pair of pants in your future clean ones that is.

  28. #28

Well, thankfully you did not scratch the truck.

  29. #29

Hey Chris that was pretty scary can you tell us if there are any particular situations where you must be careful of the saw kicking back on you thanks again great stuff bill

Glad you’re ok. I had an accident sawing a log recently. I was cutting a large oak on the ground and wedged the top. As I completed the cut the wedge shot out at mach2 and hit me square in the face. My first thought was how many teeth am I missing, but luckily the injury only required stitches in my upper lip. Should’ve been wearing my face shield. Won’t catch me without it again. My wife says that as long as the life insurance is paid up, dying while you’re doing something you love isn’t that bad. Maybe she’s trying to tell me something! LOL!
