1 year agoNo, let's be honest. It is a sin being African but a blessing accepting foreign traits.
As Africans let's try and relate with the Bible🤔. I find no existence of blacks or rather relation to us. Some things would create tension when asked. "when you want to kill a black man create a system, they will kill themselves". The religious system was created and perfected no matter how hard we try convince each other.
Everyone comes to a point of realization at some point in life, you see that what I believed to be true and the way is not but deception. That is where maponga is currently.

1 year agoMina I always ask that what if your ancestor was a sinner and never liked your father which means he does not like you either how can you then call on him to connect to God?

1 year agoYou just don't make sense at all, the fact that you continue say " African spirituality" makes you a fool, you are an African, but you are teaching foreign religion against your own spirituality! you are not a Jewish person, you are unique and specially, you are an African son, embrace that.

1 year agoThe thing with Baba Maponga is that, unlike you, he's trying to deconstruct neo colonial brain washing. He interrogates the Bibble from an African perspective and by so doing attempts to free African minds from the boxed mentality. If Baba Maponga is deceitful then, your coloniser did a better job than him. Why should any sensible adult place Baba Maponga on the pedastal? He is as human as we all are. Are we learning a thing or two from him? Ofcourse yes. These are exciting times that we're living and I bet we need more free thinkers like Baba Maponga that have upended the white derived narrative about us as a people.

1 year agoIf you speak to God you are speaking to God who is in you and you are in God,so it doesn't matter if you call God as God of Jacob or God of my ancestors. God is not outside of you or in the Bible. God is everywhere and with everybody even with those who do not read and study the Bible or belong ' to a certain church or denomination.
