Just a small correction. The assassins came from the Hashashin, which I could be wrong, but was a Sunni order of Mercenaries who smoked Hashishi and killed the target.

out of curiosity not to say make a claim or argument but what are the direct and indirect sources that you've used? (direct for example like wikipedia, the indirect is the mentions of correct citation of Ibn ishaq or Bukhari using wiki).

and no, no part of the Quran is missing. there was a physical Quran, that's what the scribes of the prophet did….they wrote….the Quran…. as the prophet recited it when it was revealed to him…-_-…… but the issue you raised is with regard to reading and correct recitation of the Quran which is for us an integral part of the Quran was orally transmitted like the oral torah. saying there was no written Quran and saying a portion of the Quran was lost due to that is a straight up lie and a complete fabrication from any Islamic and secular historical source. among the Sahaba there were those called the scribes of the prophet, what would a scribe do during the life of the prophet? play football? come on, even you know that's a clear fabrication of Islamic history where you say it was transmitted mainly orally thus there was no written down version.

there was a will….that's the disagreement. the will was ignored according to shia and sunni either deny it or he meant it in a none governing way. but the argument is that Ali (AS) was the closest to the prophet according to the prophet himself and the only one in sunni hadith to compare is Abu bakir but the prophet had told the muslims Ali is to me what Haroon is to moses except there is no prophet after me.
Sa’d ibn Abu Waqqas reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, set out to Tabuk and he left Ali behind. Ali said, “You leave me behind with the women and children?” The Prophet said, “Are you not pleased in the same position for me as Aaron was to Moses? But there is no prophet after me.”

the difference is the interpretation and is seen as the last will of the prophet by shia. the prophet also did attempt to write a physical will according to some hadiths but Omar I think, (not sure), said the prophet isn't feeling well and it should wait until he is. For shia Ali is far more worthy and capable and it was the will of the prophet for shia. saying there was no will show a misunderstanding or surface understanding but not intentional.
