Manatees were being harmed because they are so docile They are easy prey.
Manatee are protected by the government
Dolphin also have been & still are being harmed even in aquariums people scratch them with their finger nails
In Hawaii you can swim with dolphin and turtles but you have to stay 12feet away from sea turtles 🐢

When we fed manatees at one of the Dolphin Discovery places somewhere in Mexico, all the manatees did that to us. They did that when they wanted to be fed.

I have a pink wool blanket . I called it my “wankit ! “ Mom had to sneak into the bedroom to move it since it might be 90 degrees in the summer in the late 1940’s and early 1950’s and I was clutching it. We didn’t have air conditioning back then. I still have it packed away.
