Religion in Albania (Republic of Albania) is characterized by a diversity of religious beliefs and practices. Albania (Republic of Albania) has centres of worship for a multitude of faiths. It has about (97.51%) Believer population which is very high. According to the Census 2022 AD. Islam is the largest religion in the Albania (Republic of Albania) with (81.98%). The Second largest religion is Christianity with (14.99%) that forms various Catholic Churches (Catholicism) with (8.1%) along with Eastern Orthodox Churches (Orthodox Christianity) with (5.9%) that is overall total with many others minorities Protestanism, Mormonism etc. The Third largest religion is Bahaism with (0.06%), But there is also a large number of Albanian are those who belongs to No Religion Affiliations/Category ( which includes Atheistism, Agnosticism, Non-theism, Secular humanism along with No Response) with (2.49%), but also declining. Little above than two in nine (2/9) Albanians have No Religion (Irreligion). Others remaining includes Judaism, Hinduism & many others etc. The Albania (Republic of Albania) will remain Islamic majority (Islamic Nation) indeed population declining today. The Albania (Republic of Albania) government recognizes no official religion. The country Albania (Republic of Albania) is Secular and is one of the most religious country in the Southeast Europe.
Islam was first introduced to Albania in the 15th century after the Ottoman conquest of the area.
