A grim discovery of over 30 bodies in a forest in Kenya’s coastal region has sparked fears about a potential resurgence of a deadly cult.

Authorities believe victims were subjected to starvation and suffocation due to extremist religious beliefs.

In 2022, over 400 bodies were discovered in the nearby Shakahola Forest, allegedly linked to a starvation cult led by Paul MacKenzie, a self-proclaimed pastor who denies the charges related to the deaths.
