THE NEED FOR SPIRITUALITY IN THE BLACK COMMUNITY

Spirituality plays a vital role in the Black community, providing a sense of identity, community, and resilience, especially in the face of historical and ongoing challenges like racism and systemic oppression. Half of all Black emerging adults indicate that they rely on prayer and personal religious reflection when they make major life decisions (Pew Research Center, 2021). Together, these findings demonstrate that spirituality is both central and important to Black emerging adults.
