In the 1970’s, a man named Julius Schacknow started a doomsday cult called The Work. The group operated mostly out of suburban Connecticut and there was widespread abuse throughout the cult. Multiple deaths have been linked to Julius and The Work, with one in particular being confirmed to be a murder. Julius died in 1996, but The Work is still active today.
