A young man who claims to be a prophet at the African Faith Tabernacle Church has been arrested for allegedly stealing over 15 Car engines and other spare parts at Anyinam in the Atiwa East district in the eastern region of Ghana.

The suspect, Opoku, who is a nephew of the late superior Prophet David Kwaku Nkansah was arrested yesterday January 4th 2023 by the Anyinam Police for allegedly breaking into his late uncle’s warehouse (the late Superior Prophet David Kwaku Nkansah) to steal car engines.

It is further alleged that the suspect, Opoku, claims to be the next prophet and national leader of the African Faith Tabernacle Church after the demise of his uncle. Meanwhile, church elders and trustees believe the church constitution frowns on such decision and therefore can not hold himself as the successor of the late superior Prophet.

One Kwabena Oduro who happens to be the son of the late superior Prophet reported the case to the Anyinam Police for apprehension and prosecution of suspect.

The acting National leader of the Church, Prophet Stephen Frimpong, also calls on the police to ensure there is peace even as they deal with the delicate matter and asked that Opoku should stop holding himself as a prophet and national leader of the church.

He further advised that the successor of the church leader would be announced after the burial the late superior Prophet David Kwaku Nkansah.

The leader of African Faith Tabernacle Church best known as Odifoɔ Nkansah Asore, Superior Prophet David Kwaku Nkansah died at Korle Bu Teaching Hospital on Wednesday, 16th February 2022.

 African Faith Tabernacle Church is a renowned indigenous spiritual church founded in the year 1919 by the late prophet Kwame Nkansah. The headquarters of the Church is located in Anyinam in the Eastern Region.
