Just wanted to point out an interesting factoid. In Shia Islam, we have 12 leaders (called Imams) after the Prophet (s). By the time you get to Imam Ja'far Sadiq (a), each Imam goes to Africa (primarily Eastern Africa) to find a wife. Hence why the lineage is assumed to have 'darkened' in skin tone till the prophesized Mahdi (as) who is expected to come as a 'black man' or noticeably African. It's the reason why in my own clan in Somalia, we actually have ancestors from the Imams all the way to Imam Ali (as) the cousin of the Prophet (s). According to some traditions, Imam Ja'far Sadiq recommended to his sons to marry African women because they were the best of faith and spirituality.
