2 years agolet’s look at how Jesus uses this passage. When Jesus quotes Psalm 82, He says that the statement “you are gods” was directed to those “to whom the word of God came” (John 10:35). That is, those who received the message of God were called “gods.” Jesus had just claimed to be the Son of God (John 10:25–30). The unbelieving Jews responded by charging Jesus with blasphemy, since He claimed to be God (verse 33). Jesus then quotes Psalm 82:6 and says, “If he called them ‘gods,’ to whom the word of God came—and Scripture cannot be set aside—what about the one whom the Father set apart as his very own and sent into the world?” Jesus’ point is this: you charge me with blasphemy based on my use of the title “Son of God”; yet your own Scriptures apply the same term to others besides God. If those who hold a divinely appointed office or those who have a divine position in the spiritual realm can be considered “gods,” how much more can the One whom God has chosen and sent (John 10:34–36)? Context is vital, it was nothing more than a metaphor, we are humans who are highly flawed, God is flawless, humans have limits, God is limitless, we have none of Gods attributes, he is omnipotent, omnipresent, we are not, we are not Gods!

Depends On How You Say It.
2 years agoWe can become one with God. We are not God.
We who believe in the light are the children of the light, but that doesn’t mean all humanity. Jesus himself, speaking to the religious leaders of his day, even said it himself, “You are of your father, the devil”
Not all of us are children of God. None of us are God. Otherwise we’d be receiving worship and sitting on a throne, located on, “the farthest sides of the north “ as scripture states.

Betty beautiful song
2 years agoI had an experience myself at 6 years old. I was walking to school and a truck with double wheels ran over me. I remember talking to a nice lady. I asked her if I was going to die? Even though I really did not know really much about death at 6 years old. She responded by telling me no Betty, you are not going to die. It is not your time. Your mother needs you, go back. I opened my eyes and saw my mother's head on my chest, crying and begging me not to die. As it turned out, my mother did need me, my sister and two Brothers younger than me were sent home, at a very young age. All three have them had horrible deaths. I was the only one left with mom and dad. I was the only one there at dad's funeral with mom. Five months later I was her only child there at Mom's funeral to say goodbye. Some of us do cross over, but we are sent back for a reason. Mom and dad were my reason for coming back.

2 years agoThe assertion that all humans are God or fragments of a divine whole, often derived from Near Death Experiences (NDEs), is a troubling and misguided interpretation that contradicts the core tenets of Christianity and the teachings of the Bible. The Bible unequivocally states that there is only one God, and we are His creation, not divine entities ourselves.
Genesis, the first book of the Bible, clearly states that God created man in His own image. However, this does not imply that we are God or a part of Him. We are His creation, designed to reflect His image and glory, but we are not divine ourselves.
The belief that we are God or a part of Him aligns more with pantheism, a belief system that posits that God is everything and everything is God. This belief system is fundamentally at odds with Christian doctrine, which maintains a clear distinction between the Creator and His creation.
The Bible also provides us with clear warnings about the perils of false teachings and doctrines. In 2 Timothy 4:3-4, the scripture warns, "For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths."
We are indeed living in the end times, and many faithful believers anticipate the imminent return of our Lord Jesus Christ. Thessalonians 2:11-12, "For this reason, God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness." These words appear in the context of Paul's explanation of the coming of the lawless one, the Antichrist, and the deceptive nature of his influence on those who are perishing.
The notion that we are God is a blasphemous one. Isaiah 46:9 clearly states, "I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me." As Christians, we are taught to discern whether we are hearing from God by comparing what we hear with the teachings of the Bible. If a voice in your head urges you to commit sin, such as fornication, a Christian knows this is not from God because it contradicts the teachings of the Bible.
Sadly, I have observed many people who have had Near Death Experiences (NDEs) that have led them to believe things that are contrary to the Bible. These NDEs often teach inconsistent messages, yet many Christians accept them without question, placing their experiences above the Word of God. This is a grave mistake. The Word of God is our ultimate authority, and we should not be swayed by anything else.
We must remain vigilant, for we are living in a time of great deception. As 1 Corinthians 8:5-6 reminds us, "For although there may be so-called gods in heaven or on earth—as indeed there are many 'gods' and many 'lords'— yet for us there is one God, the Father, from whom are all things and for whom we exist, and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things and through whom we exist." This passage refers to false gods.
Psalm 8:5 further emphasizes our place in the divine order, stating, "You have made him a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned him with glory and honor." This verse refutes the claim made by some that their NDEs revealed that all humans are God or fragments of a divine whole. We are not God, but His creation, made in His image but distinctly separate and lower than Him. Let us hold fast to the truth of God's Word and not be led astray by false teachings.

2 years agoThe only way to literally be like God is to be born again. When we are born into this world we are not like God. We inherrit a fallen condition from Adam when we are conceived and it is corrupt, and God is Holy. When we beleive that his Son Jesus Christ, who knew no sin, became sin for us on the cross, and he died inour place paying the penalty for our sins in our place so we would not have to pay that penalty, and we beleive in our heart that God raised Jesus from the dead on the third day, and confess with our mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord, God freely forgives us of all our sins and he makes our inner man, our spirit man, born again into his holy and righteous image and likeness. We become his childern born with his nature. That is how we become like God. We become his children by new birth by his Holy Spirit. Without Jesus we are not like God. The only God we are like without Jesus Christ is the devil. The devil is your father if you do not beleive in Jesus. This man says he is a minister, so that is what he should be teaching. This is what Jesus tells us in the gospels. This is what the disciples teach us throughout the rest of the bible. God is love. God empowers those who beleive in Jesus to walk in love. John 3:16 says that God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever beleives in him should not perish but have everlasting life. If you want to experience God's glorious love forever you must beleive in his Son Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. You must beleive that God has raised Jesus from the dead. Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life, and no man comes unto the Father but by me. Only Jesus. He is Lord.

2 years agoIt sounds like a sermon to me. I would have loved to have heard his experience soon after it happened instead of ten years later. To much time to take apart and put back together. It is much more interesting to get the dirt straight from the trench instead of after it has been washed sorted sifted and labeled . Just tell me the story. I'll draw my own conclusions.
