Families around New Brighton, Eastern Cape, claim that Simamkele Mhlophe, a leader of a ‘cult movement’ called God’s Angels, has taken their children. Parents say the children are now refusing to return home since they started living with him. University of Johannesburg’s professor of Christian studies Prof. Maria Frahm-Arp says it’s easy for people to join religious cults as religion is a big business in South Africa.
