God tested Abraham by asking him to do the unthinkable – sacrifice his own son, Isaac. Abraham, even though he loved Isaac so much, obeyed God. They went to a mountain, and Abraham was getting ready to do it. Isaac was confused and asked where the animal for the sacrifice was. Abraham told him about God’s command. Isaac trusted his dad and let himself be tied up on the altar. But right before Abraham could do it, the angel of the Lord called to him from heaven and said, “Abraham, Abraham! Do not lay your hand on the boy or do anything to him, for now I know that you fear God, seeing you have not withheld your son, your only son, from me.” Because Abraham obeyed God, He promised him that he’s gonna have as many children as the stars of heaven and as the sand that is on the seashore.
