  1. The reason why angels asked him which horse he wanted—black or white—is because the white horse symbolizes life, while the black horse represents death. If he had chosen the black horse, he would have remained on the other side.

  2. If there was electrical activity in the brain, then he was not "clinically dead", right? But the experience was interesting. I'm sure Mr Gartner went back to that beautiful "place":-) Thank you.

  3. The question from a dead relative "What are you doing here?" is curious. Presumably when a person passes away they know that they are deceased and therefore if they encounter someone who was alive when they last aware of it asking such a question wouldn't be necessary. Other NDE experiencers describe being welcomed, which makes more sense i.e. it's known that a person who was once living has now passed away. Do some people remain in some kind of limbo post-death where they are actually not aware that they are now deceased?

  4. If he was "clinically dead" for ten days, or even one day, he would have set a new world record. The longest period for clinical death was 8h, 42m with with an unnamed 31 year old male. I'm guessing the subject of this video was comatose during that period and is either confusing the medical term OR his words are being mistranslated. That he had EEG activity during this period implies a coma, not brain death. Aside from that, I never judge anyone's NDE. While each is unique, this one does fall outside the norm. It's impossible to say what is or isn't a valid NDE and what is a comatose dream, but I do contend they are different phenomena. Personally I suspect that what Karl experienced was a bit of both.
