What happens when doctors experience near-death experiences themselves? In this powerful panel discussion, physicians Bettina Peyton, Anthony Cicoria, Yvonne Kason, and Jessica Schmit share how their near-death experiences (NDEs) and spiritually transformative experiences (STEs) radically changed their understanding of consciousness, death, and patient care. From surviving a plane crash and lightning strike to experiencing cardiac arrest during childbirth, these medical professionals reveal firsthand encounters with out-of-body awareness, unconditional love, and expanded consciousness.
The panel explores the growing scientific debate between materialism and post-materialism, asking whether consciousness is produced by the brain—or if consciousness is fundamental to reality itself. The doctors also discuss how their experiences transformed their approach to medicine, hospice care, and supporting patients facing death.

ABOUT IANDS (The International Association for Near-Death Studies)
IANDS is a membership nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization with a mission to advance global understanding of NDEs and related experiences through research, education, and support. We envision a future in which all people embrace near-death and related experiences as a source of meaning and inspiration for a better world. We believe NDEs can transform an individual’s life, influence the sciences, and embolden society. Today, IANDS engages in far more than research and has members from around the world. We invite you to consider becoming a member of IANDS. To learn more about near-death experiences, visit iands.org.
What is an NDE?
A near-death experience (NDE) is typically a profound, life changing, intensely emotional experience that usually occurs during a clinical crisis and has common characteristics and aftereffects. It is not a dream, hallucination, or mental illness (Greyson, 1983). There are no predictive variables to identify who will have an NDE. They happen to people of all ages, religions, socio-economic groups, cultures, educational backgrounds, and belief systems. They occur under a variety of circumstances such as accidents, near-drownings, illnesses, combat, surgical procedures, and childbirth. Following an NDE, experiencers (NDErs) often display some common aftereffects. Research has established a set of common NDE characteristics and long-term aftereffects. Theories used to explain near-death experiences in purely physical terms have been proven inadequate by NDE researchers and others.

This panel discussion was a welcome addition to my day.
Very good
As a former theist believer, spiritual Atheist 40 of my 66 years. Ms. Kason MD and her obvious religious faith explained why she heard bible verses, because it was her falling back on her faith. Also explains why believers have religious themes, so as to comfort their experience with something comforting. Mr. Cicoria MD and Atheists, non-believers are overcome by the warmth of love & light.
Ms. Schmit MD hit on something I've really seen in many faithful believers who are at their end-of-life moments, is the fear element. Faithful believers don't like to admit their fear, but the fear is real, especially at the end.
I’ve always thought that the mechanism of evolution was only ever possible because of the consciousness in the driver seat, and the physical follows
I am convinced that there will be always a 'happy end' for humanity. Just because there is no alternative. 🙂 But in these days there is so much darkness in this world that I sometimes feel impatience. All videos I saw from IANDS are full of love and wisdom. I find them extremely encouraging, because I can sense and experience, that the transformation already started. (Especially, when it reaches the realm of medicine like in this video.)
So, I once again want to say: Thank you for your courage, engagement and love, IANDS!
And thank you NDEers for your support! I wish I could show you the love I experience when listening to you! 😀
To everyone: Have a wonderful, blessed Now <3
Thank you. ❤
Terrific disclosure from mundane experts to spiritual learners.
Thanks so much for posting. A DR/expert panel certainly lends credibility to the NDE experience. I admit am something of a NDE testimony addict. Hopefully listening to these experiences has made me a better human.
❤
So much we can do to make this life better by helping and supporting others along the way.
53:17 – What is the bravest thing you've ever said? asked the boy.
'Help,' said the horse.
'Asking for help isn't giving up,' said the horse. 'It's refusing to give up.

Aa soon as it is about the Bible it becomes unauthentic, about the self and about marketing.
5 near death experiences? Come on
I've listened to hundreds of near-death experiences and when you tell me you've had and I believe in them but when you tell me you've had five near-death experiences I'm sorry my antenna goes up big time
Very interesting, thank you
Thank you for posting this fascinating and well presented panel’s experiences.
But where is Jesus? I fear that there are forces that look like all is love and peace but in the end of the journey one is taken away from God. I believe without Jesus the way the truth and the life people can be miss informed and end up in darkness after the warm light thing. Believe in Jesus and in the end eternal life in a place he has prepared for those who love him.
God is Spirit. Man is a Spirit made in the image of God. Physicial comes from the Spiritual world.Thats why when the Spirit leaves, body falls dead.Jesus is the Way,Truth and life.
Kundalini is counterfeit satanic spirit.
The only doctors on the panel that I find genuine are Dr Peyton and Dr ciccoria. The others are bizzare.
Amen and amen 😅🤣😂
Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth 😅🤣😂
This was heartening to see and listen to. I love the quiet clapping. I know there are times that's really appreciated. Great job to all the doctors who are on the forefront of helping our world become more knowledgeable and compassionate.
I find it a bit suspicious that Anthony said in his near-death experience that he specifically paid attention to which children were with his wife. That kind of implies he knew he was having an NDE and that he might need to verify details afterward. Why else would he focus so deliberately on something like that during an NDE?
Absolutely wonderful panel of people, sharing their profound experiences. Utterly uplifting and inspiring. Thank you for sharing this and to the speakers for their courage to share amidst a profession which is very sceptical about this truth. Love and light to you all. 🙏🐞
Consciousness is all that actually exists. Everything we experience is Perception In Consciousness.
Veridical NDEs are best evidence of our true nature as discarnate Consciousness experiencing Perception In Consciousness.
"Death" is just a transition to a different Perception In Consciousness.
I find it disturbing when the persons sharing also are promoting their books
Fantastic!! Thank you!
