Peace my beautiful family!!
While many of you have been on a journey to connect with your Ancestors and African Spirituality as a whole, here are some books that I recommend that could help you along the way. African spirituality is not something that can be/should be limited to books; it is very experiential. BUT books about African spirituality can surely help to move our journey along to miraculous, unimagined places as it has for myself.
Book recommendations have been highly requested since my Connecting with the Ancestors 101 video so I pray this list finds all you well and serves as an impactful tool along your journey towards your highest destiny.
Peace, love, and Black Power

I appreciate this
i’m just now getting back into my spiritual journal and i’d like to get into my african spirituality but i don’t want to be disrespectful in anyway practicing because i’m mixed. my mother is completely black and my father is white, i just want to be respectful to all beings and practice… am i still able to practice african spirituality and is there anything i should stray away from due to my white side? i don’t really identify with my white roots due to my relationship w my father, i’m not sure if that makes any difference
Oh I love this 😊
I want to say that the books you mentioned were made by non African descendant. I think you should do more research bcuz as a Yoruba person, I have seen many of them from Brazil and other South America non African doing the African Spirituality. But most of them has 10% of African blood but they don't look it. At all.
IFA is an Divination/Oracle/Wisdom. Yoruba is the people and language. The spirituality is called Ìṣẹ̀ṣẹ/ Ìṣẹ̀nbáyé/ Àbáláyé
Yes yes!!! Thank you boo! New subbie!💫💫💫

Thank you for this. I'm trying to get in tune with my spirituality and hoodoo and it's so difficult to learn and buy books when the market is over saturated with whyte authors trying to "teach" African American folk magic 😒 I almost lost hope fr😂

We need to sue the board of education for intentionally withholding our African history from us.
Your video is very to the point, lays out the resources in text in the information drop down, and you informed in a very articulate manner. Can't say the same for similar vids on other channels. It's mostly bable and doesn't distinguish the information very clearly. Thx keep it up!!
I have the sacred woman book, haven’t had the chance to finish it. However I am in new in my African spiritual journey and thank you greatly for the book suggestions. I have them all in my Amazon wishlist and will buy a few at a time. Can’t wait to be enlightened!

Do you have any spirituality books for men
Thank you for the recommendations. I already have some of those books but I will pick up Rootwork. I have the Hoodoo Tarot deck and I love it!

Can I practice African spirituality as a African American because I have never seen any like specific African American spirituality
Thank you, sister. Blessings
What school were you going to studying African spirituality and folklore ? I’ve never heard that as a class
I think you are cute.
Vodoo is our Afrikan protection given by nature . Religious vodoo is the foundation of evil .
i wish it was a audiobook
Thanks for the recommendations! I want to buy a couple of those books.
This was so helpful. Will subscribe
I am Southern African (I am half South African and half Zimbabwean, which are both Southern African countries) and I don't know if I should recommend a book cause most of the stuff that i see online is West or East African or from a Carribean Island or an African American's perspective of African spirituality which is mostly based on West and East African spirituality. So I don't know if I should recommend anything cause I don't know if anybody online on this side of the internet is interested in Southern Africa, but if anybody is interested in African Spirituality from Southern Africa, there are these two books that I've been wanting to read for a long time now that I've heard good things about. The first one is "Indaba, My Children" by Credo Mutwa and the second one is "The Zulu Shaman: Ðreams, Prophecies and Mysteries" which is written by the same author. The author of these two books was a powerful sangoma (traditional healer or a traditional doctor) who practiced African Spirituality of Zulu people (my culture from my father's side of the family), so he is a really good source if you want to know about African spirituality.
Edit: And as I was searching for these books to make sure I got the title right, I came across another book called "Becoming A Zulu Traditional Healer (Sangoma)" by S Haupt Gem For Healing, I think this is interesting so I'm putting this recommendation as well.
This is very helpful! Thank you
Thank you!
