What happens when the hospital confirms you’re dead — and you come back?
Dean Braxton’s near-death experience began with a routine kidney stone procedure. The antibiotics failed, the procedure turned septic, and his organs began shutting down. According to his medical records, Dean had no heartbeat and no breathing for 1 hour and 45 minutes. His doctor, who normally stops resuscitation after 30 minutes, kept going without knowing why. Staff had already started filling out his death paperwork when Dean came back.
In this episode, Dean describes leaving his body, rising through the hospital floors, and watching prayers stream past him like shooting stars on the way into heaven. He shares meeting Jesus face to face and hearing three times, “No, it’s not your time. Go back.” He describes worshiping at the throne of God the Father, reuniting with generations of his family, and seeing animals in heaven.
Dean also explains what he saw in the hospital room while he was dead, and why his doctor called it a miracle that he has no brain damage.

Even thou the law requires perfection God still wants us to love Him with all of our heart, soul, mind and strength, He isn’t accepting those who turn away from Him and His ways.

His experience sounds a lot like Catholicism. The Saints are with God. The Saints in heaven know everything that happens on earth. They can intercede for those on earth. We should pray for our dead ones. The Holy Trinity is three persons in one nature that cant be separate. All baptized in the Trinity form are children of God. God loves it when we sing songs to him. God is merciful, so we shouldn't judge who is allowed into heaven.
This testimony chaged my life.
I guess if God doesn't judge me and only sees the good in me and not the bad, then I can do whatever I want!
I met Dean in 2013 when he spoke in Tri Cites, WA. My 33 year old daughter had been killed in 2012 by a drunk driver car accident. She went through the windshield and then fell off and was crushed between the car and curb on the freeway in Seattle. I was so broken and shattered but I leaned into the pain towards God. Knowing God could have saved her. I talked with Dean during the break but what he did when it was over changed my perception. He reached out and said to me – her spirit left her body and then she died’. He’ll never know the spiritual step he gave me to heal. Forever grateful I showed up and he gave his heart to me. 🙏🏻💜
I love testimonies like this, but I sometimes wonder specifically about the events themselves over the testifier's RELIGIOUSLY BIASED INTERPRETATION of the events they experienced. It's not like Buddhists and Muslims (and frankly Atheists) have never had NDEs and also saw and interacted with Jesus, but they obviously would have almost no way to interpret what happened to them through a Christian lens other than the fact that Jesus or The Father was present in the experience. I wonder if God creates the experience based on one's bias, or if we tend to bias our NDE interpretations because of our religion (or lack of one).

I think people have a tendency to project onto God the traits and characteristics of themselves, their parents, nature or society in general, which is where these distorted views of Him largely come from. Excellent interview!
I love you and your stories, but that does not sound like the Trinity to me. It sounds like three different personages who are ONE in purpose, etc. The word Trinity is a man made concept, added to scripture… Jesus is eternal, not switching between God the Father and God the Son. I don’t understand why people cling so tightly to the man-made Trinity idea.
That concept has become an idol and like a Christian gang, where others are excluded if they don’t believe that one man-made idea.

Has anyone ever asked God about religions, chosen people, the OT wars? Did God tell Joshua to destroy those sinful nations, or was that Joshua directing according to whay He thought God wanted? And as your friend said families are meant to work together, how are families shattered by abuse supposed to reach that harmony when it's generational and they can't connect by time or space?
I grew up legalistic mormon but love Christ. He led me out of it so I could have a closer relationship with Him through His Spirit and has taught me how to not strive but consider the lillies, and to grow trusting in His will each day of my life.

Thankyou for this testimony. I had a breakdown just over 20 years ago. I wasn't able to sleep so I would listen to the radio at night. Every so often a song would come on and the room would fill up with love. I would cry my heart out. I experienced this as God's way of telling me that he loved me. It was out of the box for me at the time but I always remember. This testimony encouraged me that maybe God does sing love songs over us ❤

I appreciated what Dean said about race, this is so relevant at this time in our history. It basically agrees with what Ken Ham always says… there is really only one race, the human race.

I needed to hear this ! – my son was just recently arrested for a terrible crime – I keep thinking to myself in the devastating fallout of the situation, that he is still a Son of God , has intrinsic worth and is deserving of forgiveness if he repents. It is for people like him that Jesus died for our sins.
