Can a near-death experience prove that someone went to Heaven? Gabe Poirot says he experienced Heaven and met Jesus during an 18-day coma after a devastating accident. His testimony is powerful. But before we build theology around an experience, we need to ask two questions: What does medicine say, and more importantly, what does the Bible say?
First, Gabe reportedly suffered serious head trauma. Traumatic brain injuries, prolonged unconsciousness, ICU stays, medications, sleep disruption, delirium, and recovery from coma can be associated with vivid dreams, hallucinations, confusion, altered perception, and distorted memories. That doesn’t mean Gabe is lying. He may sincerely remember exactly what he describes.
But a vivid experience does not automatically prove that someone’s conscious soul literally left their body and traveled to Heaven.
Then there’s the bigger problem: Scripture.
Ecclesiastes 9:5: “The dead know not any thing.”
Psalm 146:4 says when a person dies, “in that very day his thoughts perish.”
Jesus described Lazarus’ death as sleep in John 11:11-14.
Peter said plainly in Acts 2:34, “David is not ascended into the heavens.”
And 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 says the dead in Christ rise when Jesus returns.
That is the biblical hope: not an immortal soul escaping the body at death, but the resurrection of the dead at the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.
And here’s something Christians especially need to remember: even if an experience cannot be medically explained, that doesn’t automatically make it a revelation from God. Scripture says, “Believe not every spirit, but try the spirits” (1 John 4:1).
I’m not calling Gabe Poirot a liar. I’m saying something much simpler:
Experiences must be tested by Scripture. Scripture must never be rewritten to accommodate an experience.
Your experience may be powerful. Your testimony may be sincere. Your memory may be vivid. But when experience and the Bible appear to disagree, I’m sticking with the Bible.
And as usual, it’s not my opinion, it’s the Advent Truth!
The Final Destination of the Dead
.
What is a soul? Is it immortal?
•Body + Breath = Soul/Living Creature (Nephesh, H5315), Mankind does not have a soul, we are souls. (Gen. 2:7)
•Only God is immortal, mankind does not have an immortal soul (1 Timothy 6:14-16)
.
What happens at death?
•Body – Breath = Death (Ecc. 12:7)
.
Where do people go at death?
•The grave (Ecc. 12:7; Gen. 3:19; John 5:28-29; Job 21:13; Acts 2:29, 34)
.
What does the Bible compare death to?
•Sleep (Job 14:12; Psalm 13:3; John 11:11-14; 1 Thess. 4:13:18; 1 Cor. 15:51-55)
.
Do the dead see us or know anything?
•No, they know nothing at all (Ecc. 9:5-6, 10; Job 7:9-10; Psalm 115:17)
.
When do the righteous receive immortality?
•The Second Coming of Jesus (1 Cor. 15:51-55; 1 Thess. 4:16-18; John 5:28-29)
.
When do the wicked receive their punishment? Is it eternal?
•It is not eternal, and doesn’t happen until after the millennium (John 5:28-29; Revelation 20; Matthew 25:41)
.
What happens to the wicked when they are punished?
•They are reduced to ashes (Isaiah 47:14; Psalm 37:10, 20; Malachi 4:1-3; Revelation 20:9-10; Nahum 1:9-10; Obadiah 1:16; Ezekiel 18:20)

GREAT VÍDEO
Frankly, everyone has their own “interpretation” of the Holy Bible and are damn sure “they” have the truth locked up. So did the Pharisees of Jesus’ day. Never take anyone’s word aline but study for yourself. I have major doubts with NDEs based on the Holy Bible. If any man ever saw parts of Heaven, it would be limited to the apostles, such as John. I only have to hear the wildly different NDE accounts to cause me to doubt the veracity of their claims. God is not the Author of confusion so that is a red flag with NDE stories.
I tend to believe the same way. Even when looking at the criminal on the cross. Jesus tells him, He will see the criminal in PARADISE today. Not heaven. Also we can look at Lazarus’ death. The Bible tells us Lazarus was in “Abraham’s bosom, or Paradise. Not heaven. There’s many other scriptures that indicate that we don’t immediately go to heaven, or hell when we die. I believe we go to heaven or hell AFTER judgement, which happens when Jesus returns.
I tend to believe all these “near death” or “after death, pre-resuscitation” experiences are either dreams/hallucinations or possibly visions from God, but not that they were physically or spiritually in heaven or hell.
So according to your beliefs, you don't exist before life or after. What is the difference between this and atheism?
I know we have a spirit and a soul, and a body. Just like the holy trinity. We're created in God's image. A Trinity. Just like God.
Man I tried to commit suicide when I was 21 years old. I took 64 Valium pills in a gallon of cranberry juice. I was alone in my own house, and my friend found me. They toke me to the hospital to clean my stomach. I was passed out and I saw myself and everyone that was there from the roof of that hospital. Three times I came out of my body every time they tried to put a tube through my throat. What about Mathew 10:28 or Revelation 20:4 King James Version
4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
I believe You know nothing about the Bible
2 Corinthians 12. I believe the "man" was paul. Then there was Enoch. You should talk to God about this. If you open your mind, God will reveal the truth to you brother
😅😅😅😅
Jesus makes it clear in the gospelswhile correcting the saducees that man is eternal and will go on to heaven or hell
No brother, what about apostle John's revelations? You refer to John 3:13 from Jesus telling the Pharisees, because in context he was the only so far revealed heaven to men before the crucifixion, however the Revelations of John does speak of him dying and scending to see the upcoming glory of the return of Jesus Christ by his own hand and what the Judgement would carry, also the saints so thing's from heaven already in there plus the ones that will become part of it through the marrying of the Church the bride of Jesus with Jesus Christ son of God Revelation 1:17-19
17 And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last:
18 I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.
19 Write the things which thou hast seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter…
I seem to remember Jesus saying, “ today you’ll be with me in paradise”
What about the decapitated saints beneath the throne of Sapphire? I could go on
True Amen 🙏💯
While these modern near-death stories are intriguing to many believers, it is always safest to rely strictly on the Bible rather than personal experiences. Scripture is our ultimate, unchanging truth, and sticking closely to God's Word ensures we won't be misled by testimonies that might unintentionally contradict what the Bible teaches.
I hate it when people read one verse in the Bible and come up with a bunch of bull crap because of the way they interpreted it. doesn’t it also say in the Bible I knew you before you were born . I don’t believe in Jesus because of the Bible I believe in him because he’s manifested himself to me in other ways. I don’t understand how anybody believes in God just because of the Bible . thank the Lord I have the Holy Ghost that testifies to me that Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior if it was only from the Bible, I could never believe.
So the fact that we see raising someone from the dead in 1&2 Kings, John, Luke, Mark, Acts, you are deliberately trying to confuse people. The fact that Jesus rose from the dead does not concern you? What about his friend Lazarus who never smiled again after being raised from the dead by Jesus. You are basing your belief on the nde of a young man who was in a coma. What of those who were pronounced dead for over an hour? Did they imagine this too? You are wicked to try and make people believe that there is no life after death. Even Jesus tells us that there is life after death. Our bodies we do not take with us. And lastly, you are putting limitations on what God can do.
LET HIM TELL HIS STORY. !
Flase teachings!! Repent, and believe in The Eternal Rock of Ages, Jesus to be saved!!
Read these scriptures!!
In the KJV, 1 Peter 3:19-20 says:
"By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison; Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water."
Additionally, 1 Peter 4:6 mentions:
"For for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit."
@TheAdventTruth
You false teacher of the scriptures:
Look at how Jesus explained this:
Matthew 25:41
King James Version
41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
So far as i know from these scriptures, angels, satan, spirits don't die!! Your spirit, which you actually, will never seize to EXIST, hence the reason Jesus came to die to prevent you from going with satan and his angels to everlasting punishment!!
Lk 16:19-31
Luke 16:19-31
King James Version
19 There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:
20 And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores,
21 And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.
22 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;
23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.
25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.
26 And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.
27 Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house:
28 For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.
29 Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.
30 And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.
31 And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.
I believe that God can do whatever he wants
Bro your not qualified to teach ! Revelation clearly states the souls of the martyrs cry out from under the alter saying " how long o Lord " . Stop teaching heretic!
