Life After DEATH, YamLok, Real Rebirth Stories & Garuda

Life After DEATH, YamLok, Real Rebirth Stories & Garuda

What happens after we die? Not as a philosophical question. As a fact, described verse by verse in one of Hinduism’s most sacred texts, the Garuda Purana, spoken by Lord Vishnu himself.

Ji is back on . And this time, he takes us somewhere most people are afraid to go.

is a practising monk at Sri Sri Radha Gopinath Temple, ISKCON Chowpatty, Mumbai. Disciple of His Holiness Radhanath Swami. National bestselling author of A Monk’s Almanac, Icons of Grace, Ask the Monk, Bound by Love and SHIVA. His discourses have been heard in 50+ countries across the globe.

In this episode, he opens the Garuda Purana and reads it to us. Not in Sanskrit. In the language every Indian understands.

The subtle body that forms the moment the soul leaves. The Yamdoots who come from Yamlok to collect it. The soul that watches its own funeral from above. The 13-day journey that begins after death, passing through stations of increasing difficulty. The Vaitarini Lake, the most brutal body of water in the universe, filled with blood, where every soul is dragged unless they have served or donated a cow in their lifetime. The final arrival before Yamraj. The judgment. And the description of hell as it appears in the Vedic verses, in detail that will stop you cold.

We discuss the . What can be done for a person on their deathbed. And how every one of us can evolve spiritually in this lifetime so that what comes after is not what the Garuda Purana describes for those who were not prepared.

The answer, says, is simpler than you think. The chanting of Krishna’s name.

This is not a frightening episode. It is a preparing one.

  1. Please share this with your entire family. We’ve carefully brought together the timeless wisdom of our ancient traditions. Now, let’s keep that wisdom alive by passing it from one generation to the next.

  2. Hare Krishna

  3. At 54:10, the lady describes her near-death experience and says that her journey to Yamaloka happened within a few hours. But as I understand from what you explained earlier, the journey to Yamaloka is described as taking several days. Could you please clarify this point? It would be really helpful to understand how these two descriptions can be reconciled.

I have deep faith in and respect for the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita, so I am asking this only to understand the subject more clearly.

  4. Kisne dekha death kr baad kon kahan jaa rha ?

Bhagwaan ko brahman hi kyu priy hai? Ki brahmano ko khilaiye?

Kya garantee hai jis brahman ko khila rahe usne koi paap hi nai kia? Ya usko shlok ek adha hi ata hai?

  6. Just curious, about this Satnam Kaur story, if a soul takes few days to months to reach Yamlok, then how is it that she returned to her body in her death bed after meeting Yamraj? Was her body not cremated by then? I am a firm believer in garud puran, but just curls on this incident that contradicts the details shared.. ,

  7. We have same concept in islamic philosophy as rewards and punishments I am not sure but you don't have this in budhism dalai lama once said what God will get burning people when I heard this podcast I felt it same that we have in Quran and hadees

  8. Sir mujhe ek baat samajh mein nahi aaya ki jo satsang attend karne bali lady wo jab puri yatra complete karke yamlok pahacha tab yamraj use ea nehi hay bol kar use wapas sarir main bhejdia ea kese hua tab tak ta wo lady ka death 1 year hogya hoga kya uska gharwalo ne jalaya nehi hogakya
Sir ne ta bola ki 1 year lagjaega sab rasta parkarke wo yamlok jab pahache ga tabtak 1 saal ho jayega
1 saal ke baad jab wo yamlok pahachegi tab yamraj g ne bola hoga ki ea wo lady nehi hai or phir wo wapas aagya kya 1 saal tak uska body ko jalaya nehi hoga kya ta wo baat mujhe samaj mein nehi aaya ki wo kese hua
