Does anybody else here feel like they are remembering things as they listen to excerpts from this book?
I appreciate your clarification at 6:00. I read the Spirits Book a couple years ago, and although I thought much of it was on target, I ultimately tossed it because it sounded too Christian. I figured that if the Spirits were truly advanced/wise, they would have seen through things puny little me had seen through with some basic biblical scholarship, rather than continually speaking in Christian terms and upholding Christian presuppositions. But you point out that the Spirits were "dumbing down" (my words) the message so that Kardec — a devout Catholic — did not immediately run from the room screaming "Heresy!!" and forget the whole project. They "met him where he was," at a "third grade level of understanding." (No shade to Kardec, it was the mid 1800s, that's where 98% of people were.)

Perhaps someone could give the world a modernized Kardec project. We are 150 years down the road, and maybe we don't need things "dumbed down" by Catholic presuppositions and burdened by Christian terminology anymore.

Hi all, I’m very sensitive and a lot of the time find it hard to control my emotions, it’s led me down a path of addiction which I’m now recovering from, I find it difficult to know where to draw the line with some people also, I try to be kind but end up feeling used, for example, a neighbour will only txt when she wants something, or to look after her children,and normally I’ll help as I feel guilty otherwise, even if it’s not convenient for me at the time, or constantly asking to borrow things, idk it’s difficult to say no, as I do enjoy helping people, but it makes me sad when I feel used, anyway much ❤ to all ❤ ps I can’t seem to find a balance at the moment, I’d really appreciate some advice ❤

As a former Christian Pastor, I totally agree with your observation. Religion coopts god (with a small "g") to use for human control. It is by default hierarchical with a slew of frightening punishments for disobedience.

Some aspects are just too cruel. The time we get with our partners (dogs) is just too damn short. Fourteen years or less just isn’t long enough and is just plain cruel.
Holy crap, I am going through this right now. I grew up in a strongly religious home. So this idea of questioning the version of God I have always known is mildly terrifying

Why do we believe in a God of punishment ? because of stories like the Great Flood. We humans also have a sence of justice. Evil people like Hitler should be punished. However, we don't want to be punished for our own iniquities. The Abrahamic religion requires that we fear God. It states the man who fears God is wise man. Fear not in a sence of seeing a monster, but fear out of respect.
"The measure you give will be the measure you get", perhaps because we are the ones that assess the life review.
There is always consequences to sin but never condemnation
My NDE was 2023 and I was given knowledge that changed everything that I knew. There is no hell. God doesn’t want a eternal separation from any of his children. We are not judged, only told what we could improve. God is pure love and you feel it coming from everything in heaven.

Do other beings have souls the same that we have souls? Does the being that loves us and knows us … is he/she thought of in the same way by them, as us? Are they learning too or can they just come visit us and they live under a seperate version of earth with its own lessons and challenges ?? Do they experience time the same way we do?
While driving home alone one day. I asked out loud what Religion was all about?! A male voice said these words into my right ear while I was driving….. He was not in my head, he was right next to me. He told me that… "Organized Religion was "Created" to Control Man's Mind." End of transmission. I was not scared, I did not pull the car over and jump out…. No, I was sad for all people getting duped over religion. Including my own parents at the time.
We took our flaws and projected them onto God, because we thought we were made in God's image…? God deliberately created us with flaws for some reason.
If one should believe what people say about the soul, it seems like it is a one way street towards perfection, without consequences. No "exhaust", no polarity. So the laws of physics as we know them, where every action has a reaction, and where there is symmetry all over the place, and opposites… That doesn't seem to apply to the spiritual realm, or does it? Can one become more loving without someone else becoming more hateful in return?

I’ve been enjoying The Spirits’ Book. Even though things are stated so simply that anyone can understand them, their deep and transformative nature often gives me pause at times, which keeps me from rushing through the book. I really have to stop and ponder things.

I disagree. Getting interaction with the divine would be life changing and profound. It wouldn't mislead and keep the seeker in loops of the falsehood. So whatever or whoever taught guilt, shame, fear wasn't God.
Well, the book did say we are "made in his image". Does that refer only to our physicality, or does it also refer to God's thoughts, imagination, fears, wishes, habits, emotions?
I think the Spirits book is just another book to use as a crutch and especially when you jave to pay for it. One must take on the challenge, the hard work, individually, against the world continually trying to control your body and soul. I think God wants each one of is to find and present our authenticity to share with him. Not by following someone's admonitions and advice in a book. Enough of the books. Seek your autthentic self by looking within, it's your alone, only you can know it.
Do not trust those who come to you with sweet words, those who tell you they know what God wants to tell you if only you follow them. The only road map you need is already within you. you must do the work alone to read it. Find your quiet, alone place where there is nothing to press upon you and your mind is free from distractions. In that silence, allow God to talk to you.
No Jesus told Us about GOD!! God Does Not Change. He's the Same Yesterday Today and Forever. God Is Holy!! So Holy!!. We never made God in our own image in Religion …We are the ones that are made in God's Perfect image. No Paradox. Just facts. Thanks and I would rather believe in Jesus and what he said over some familiar Spirits. Though he seems to have "Summoned" A Certain Demon unknowingly that afforded him such info…. they are half-truths which are synonymous with The Father Of Lies.
