here’s a quick translation-commentary of a little passage on HUMAN DESIRE from Kojève’s Introduction to the reading of Hegel 🙂
a little circular but this concept is super dense so i hope you find this imperfect but honest effort helpful !

History is desire! The subject seems inexhaustible. 👍
Woah
You gotta love the human desire to make themselves special lmao
how come I just asked Chatgpt : " how to swipe through dating apps without getting sexually excited about someone?" And than I open YouTube and I find your video lol.
Anyway, thank you for this introduction.
Now I want to read the book whatever language french or English but wondering if there is an audible version of it.
you have a beautiful energy about youself, that makes your videos very enjoyable
Amazing video! The part regarding the interplay of the structural makeup of the logical being vs the outside world reminded me of the concept of abjection by julia kristeva where the abject exists between the subject and the object, caused by the blurring of the line between them. I'm not sure if you have already made videos on psychoanalysis but you definitely should!
Also at 8:00, is this third party similar to the idea of mediation in girard's theory of desire? it's almost exactly the same when you explained it through the diagram.
It is funny that I see this video as soon as I find an essay on this exact topic, not sure if you enjoy this read or not as it explores the idea of desire but shift the focus abit more to history and time in the works of heidegger https://www.marxists.org/reference/archive/hegel/txt/kojeve-s.htm
Also also weird request but I hope you could cover topics that are not so much related to philosophy. Recently watched your video on bergson's view on mystics and thought an exploration of anthropological ideas that blur the lines with philosphical takes, like Mauss' work on gifts and magic, would be so interesting. Or even the works that border on the mystic in their thought such as Weil's work
Can't wait for your next video's on Kojeve!
Lov eit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sooo Sweet Energy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What does any of this mean?
U have a really really lovely hair
Happy to have found your channel. The English Bloom translation of Kojève is pretty unreliable.
yeah man
this is very interesting. i guess it makes sense sorbonne would prescribe kojeve for hegel. would you study kojeve primarily as a hegel scholar or as a philosopher in his own right? i understand there’s a lot in kojeve (his take on the end of history etc) that would be considered “erroneous” by (largely german) hegel scholars which made me curious how he’s discussed in a french classroom
