Sam Harris' worldview is the most dangerous thing imaginable. His view of the human person is, most ironically, exactly what both the Nazis and the Stalinist monsters advocated.
Dude an authoritarian a$$hole. The difference between the belief in God and say, medical research is one has a body of evidence, the other really just boils down to your personal convictions (or lack thereof) bc there is no way to scientifically prove it one way or another. It is a mystery, and you can only draw your own conclusions.
Voting should have a qualification of basic questions. 1. Are you planning on getting your cousin pregnant again? 2. Do you believe the Mormons should be allowed to overrun a city? 3. Should Mormons be allowed to purchase all available houses and buy all occupied rentals by using their wealth and power to cause forced evictions of families and service veterans in the middle of winter? 4. Do you go to church more than once a month? If so and your church has bishops do you think your church does not openly want gays in because they think they will blow all the profits? 5. Name a territory of the united states 6. Do farm laborers get paid more for overtime than other laborers in other industries or is the pay the same? 7. Can you drive a manual shift vehicle? Do you want to live on Mars? 8. Do you think elon musk and trump are gay? 9. What is worse, Chlamydia or genital warts? 10. Should alcohol be given to highschool diploma recipients at their graduation party? 11. Does your mother know your dad is gay?
Each answer cannot be more than 17 words or your voting rights will be permanently revoked because you will be given citizenship and a bottle of vodka in Russia.
Gods are human and Sam Harris is one of them, and I have all of the reasons for my recognition of this fact so don’t go off thinking I’m talking about a belief here of any kind ❤

Beliefs about history or geography are quickly refuted because they are easily proven in one way or another. However, religion, is irrational. It has no proof and yet billions of people believe in something that science can neither prove or disprove. This guy may be Christian, he can't prove that. Atheist? He can't prove that. Respect people's religion because yours has the same burden of proof it can't make.
It's ok to turn away from Jesus if you want more in life. Ik how it's effected my life n I'd never want that for anyone. Also shout out my religious trauma survivors ❤
We are to respect their RIGHT to believe it. Not respect the beliefs themselves. He knows that. He is being unnecessarily provocative out of contempt for believers. The man is incredibly prideful.

It is a persons right to hold whatever beliefs they want. It is everybody else's right to find those beliefs to be utterly ridiculous.

I respect humans and accept their biases (such a religion) but never respect it.
