20 Near Death Experience Commonalities that Align with the

What do experiences (NDEs) from people around the world have in common, and how do they align with what’s written in the Bible? In this video, we explore 20 near-death experience commonalities I’ve found after studying close to 1500 NDEs. Listen as Dr. Mary Neal, a spine surgeon pinned under a waterfall and dead for 30 minutes, along with Captain Dale Black, an airline pilot who came back from a horrific plane crash, vividly describe the commonalities of Heaven and the afterlife that overlap with so many NDEs around the world. Follow their parallel journies into heavenly realms, describing the spiritual body with its new powers, glorious reunions, and the wonders of the city of , bustling with life. Discover how these experiences mirror ancient biblical truths.

Could near-death experiences be evidence of the afterlife described in Scripture? And why do some Christian pastors say near-death experiences contradict the Bible? Which of these extraordinary accounts does the Bible confirm? Watch now to dive into this fascinating connection between commonalities and the Bible.

  1. Would like to know why GOD put us here when we could have just stayed there, what’s our purpose here ? Also if when the pilot died if he saw the other people that died at the crash with him ?

  2. Its inspired me listening to this story, it makes me more excited like going for best vacation /holiday ever like that feelings, when my time come to meet my creator Jesus the God of heaven.

  3. This is definitely a perfect time to use your resources to bring in homeless people. Every house today has to be huge. All these big homes and most are empty and yet people are living on the streets pushing practically dragging shopping carts filled with all their worldly possessions with hands all black because they haven't had a shower in years.

  4. What about scripturally? I’m confused? Thank you John for talking about the robe of righteousness. I guess God the Father gives people the choice of accepting Jesus after the experience. I can’t imagine anyone not though after having an NDE.

  5. It would be sooo great if these videos would have subtitles also in other languages! I would love to see also subtitles in romanian. This way we could share these great videos to our loved ones.Thank you for the great work you put in every video!❤️

  6. Have you ever asked your iPhone siri who founded your church the current denomination your apart of? And then asked siri who founded the catholic and orthodox churches? Try it.

  7. I'm new to your podcast. Ironically, my Christian Grief Counselor (I'm in therapy to help process the grief from losing my cat on January 18th, 2026) just happened to mention your book, Imagine Heaven, today. Your video on pet's in heaven came up on YouTube, so I watched. I had watched NDE content years ago, and some NDE channels I had watched, just didn't focus on Scripture and how important it is to accept Jesus as Lord and Savior. I am so happy to see that you DO focus on Scripture. It brings a deeper level of comfort and peace. I'm happy to be subscribed to you, and look forward to watching more. God Bless you and thanks again!

  8. Your point about there being a difference—a distinction which is important to maintain—between what was experienced, and how it was described, is a very good point. But the point also applies to the description you are giving to what they experienced. You are happy to use the language found in the Bible to describe NDE's, but you have to remember, what these people have experienced is not really something that can be expressed at all in any language. Which means that the way you are describing what is happening is no more or no less accurate, as it were, as the experiences expressed any other way. Think about Paul's experience, which he didn't even try to describe–and if anybody was good at describing things, it was Paul.

A few examples: 1) You advert to Daniel, who says that those who are sleeping in the dirt will wake up, i.e. Daniel isn't talking about an experience which happens at the time of death. He's talking about an experience which happens to a buried body. Yes, there is some language there which kind of fits the clothing/robes/light/radient love which the NDE experiencers try to describe. But it's not the experience Daniel was talking about.

    2) compare the post-resurrection body of Christ with a) Paul's descriptions of a seed growing into a plant, or putting on clothing, and with b) how people who have had NDE's typically describe their corporality, or lack thereof. Yeah, there are some points which are in common, but there are substantial differences as well. E.G. Christ's body still had wounds, open wounds, for Thomas to put his fingers into. I don't recall any NDE which featured somebody who, say, had a car crash, and noticed that they were floating around in a body which had identical wounds to what were suffered in the car crash.

Please understand, this isn't a criticism–what else can you do but try to understand these experiences using the language, concepts, and categories you have available to you? And I am not saying that Christianity is false, or anything like that either. And you are 100% right to say that NDE's are by no means a threat to anybody's desire to live and belief Biblically.

But what I am saying is that you cannot use peope's NDEs, which you have expressed in Christian language, to prove christianity, or any one of the the many, many christian conceptions of heaven. It's just leaving out so many common experiences of NDEs. For example, people tend to have an NDE which features meeting God–but a God which they have worshiped and as is presented to them in their culture and religious traditions. And again, how else can they describe their experience but to use the language, concepts, and categories they have?

But it is important to remember that the NDE experience is utterly ineffable in any human language, so you really can't say that any particular description is any more accurate or inaccurate than any other–they are all completely inaccurate, infinitely falling short of the experience.

  9. Every false argument about that if God would send someone back from the dead they would still not be believe because they have that Moses and the prophets be eliminated NOW in Jesus name amen. That’s like saying stop performing signs and wonders because they should believe without it when it’s biblical that God uses signs and wonders to win souls for Him.

  10. For me I FELT completely at peace and nothing could change that in the presence of the HOLY spirit is like being put in a bubble all around you and your being bathed in serenity beyond peace as we know it on earth. No fear, absolutely 100% relaxing, comforted right down to bone. Loved, safe, that makes you soothed in peace. There are truly no exact word for that kind of peace here on earth. It's absolutely beautiful.

  11. I believe 100percent in NDEs.
John great work, this only increases my faith.
If these people that die and come back knew everything that God knows there wouldn't be any questions from them right. Like you said.
My view God is super nuclear power that we can't look upon or be near till we are pure.
As a Catholic we are told about purgatory not a place but an effect on our souls to purify our souls, nothing unholy or unclean can enter into Heaven. The people that come back never completely die and are allowed to return to earth, so we don't know fully about judgement.
John I think your right judgement come later.
As for the voice of God I believe I have heard him many times, when it feels good and right to act on something I listen and act. Not always directly sometimes through other people and is described as a voice not from myself
But beware because you can be fooled be the evil one❤❤❤

  12. I want to know why some who aren’t from the Christian faith encounter someone other than Jesus. They say that heaven doesn’t have a specific religion? I don’t need religion but I do feel the need to understand why some say that you can be Buddhist for example and encounter this figure rather than Jesus? I went to a conference with NDE attendees and they were all trying to be psychics? Handing out business cards!

  13. I should also say I had an NDE. It was beautiful and peaceful and different from some. It changed my life, in good ways but hard in other ways. You long to be there more than you should sometimes. I saw visions of the future that made me know I couldn’t stay there. But it was without fear and so much peace even though I knew I was dying. I was out and I saw everything happening around me and beyond. I felt the feelings of everyone around me.

  14. I will never fear death now, I fear life more. Life is hard but what I experienced in my NDE was beautiful and so peaceful, direct and straightforward with no unanswered questions. You just knew. I saw and knew everything that was happening and it was just beautiful.

  15. Saint Basil the Great, bishop and Doctor of the Church (330-379) Like the sunshine, which permeates all the atmosphere, spreading over land and sea, and yet is enjoyed by each person as though it were for him alone, so the Spirit pours forth his grace in full measure, sufficient for all, and yet is present as though exclusively to everyone who can receive him. To all creatures that share in him he gives a delight limited only by their own nature, not by his ability to give. The Spirit raises our hearts to heaven, guides the steps of the weak, and brings to perfection those who are making progress.

  16. ACTS 26: I was going to Damascus with the authority and commission of the chief priests. 13 About noon, King Agrippa, as I was on the road, I saw a light from heaven, BRIGHTER THAN THE SUN, blazing around me and my companions. 14 We all fell to the ground, and I heard a voice saying to me in Aramaic,[a] ‘Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me? It is hard for you to kick against the goads.’

  17. "I TOOK MY MIND WITH ME NOT MY BRAIN" – THIS IS CLASSIC CATHOLIC ANTHROPOLOGY !!!! We have the brain in common with animals (which have no mind) and we have the mind in common with the angels (who have no brain) that is why we are rational animals. Our intelligence transcends our brain but on earth knows through our 5 senses and brain !!! We are a composite of spiritual soul (intelligence, memory and will) and material body !!!!

  18. "THE LIGHT EMANATES FROM GOD BUT IS NOT GOD" – Right on target !!!! Catholic Theology makes a difference between created grace (sanctifying grace: which is a degree of Divine life attached to the soul) and uncreated grace, which is the presence of God himself in the soul.

  19. It may be that the people that don't have life reviews is because they were really bad .and God don't want them to be embarrased ,or I'm hoping that's the reason because I'm one that would be very embarrased because i have done really bad things ,I ask God for forgivness every day and tell him I don't want a life review, also I want to say I love your videos ,I watch others but I like yours a lot better ,thank you God Bless you.

  20. Thank you sir for your good work! I now look at my life more from the outside in knowing that what I'm going through that in heaven they're saying come on you can do it! Whatever happens happens I just believe in okay

  21. NDEs align more perfectly with hindu religion than any other religion….because Hinduism is world's oldest religion and the experience of people that has been passed on since thousands of years has no comparison with new religions….its like you can't compare the experience or intelligence of a 5 year old with some one who is 120 years old
