In this episode, I discuss the psychology and biology of desire, love and attachment. I explain how childhood attachment types are thought to inform adult attachment styles to romantic partners, and I describe some of the major theories of human mate selection, relationships and infidelity. Additionally, I explore the neurobiology and proposed subconscious processing underlying desire, love and attachment, including the roles of empathy and “positive delusion.” I outline how self-awareness can shift one’s relationship attachment style towards securely bonded partnerships. Finally, I describe specific tools and supplements that have been researched to increase libido and sex drive. Throughout the episode, I explain the science and key mechanisms underlying romantic love and outline tools for those seeking to find a strong, healthy relationship, or for those wanting to strengthen an existing relationship.

I like how and when Dr Huberman gets really detailed on to specific Points.
On the contrary, I think this particular episode should be rated since Dr has a variety of listening audience—there may be some teens under age 18 y.o. who are driven by curiosity.
I learned so much here. I would love to read the book and broaden understanding of my own circumstances.
I’m not sure why macaque monkeys would be the representation of a human relationship. It’s a long way
What a great video. Thank you.
In order eradicate the love we have to undergo cell brain theory on the basis of meiosis and mitosis this treatment will cure the lover or it will create a wizard of cancer on perfect human body on the basis of neurology and allied sciences. This therapy may extinct human survival on earth
Bro you gotta work on your uh’s and um’s. The worst public speaking habit of all time. Signals a lack of confidence, conviction, and competency. While clearly not the case, the message gets lost as a result
The lesson here/my takeaway: im cooked.
Really interesting take on attachment and desire! I’ve actually just finished two separate episodes on these topics — one with two AASECT-certified sex therapists on desire and another with two attachment experts. Love how you’ve highlighted the intersection between the two
Please, invite "Rachel, the Neuroscientist" 🤩
In addition to extensive discussion on neurological mechanism and understanding of love and attachment, I am delighted that Dr. Huberman mentioned Neruda. I love Neruda’s 100 love sonnets – brain chemicals transformed into the most intimate and beautiful words.
❤
At 1:15:47 he said "I'll return to those (key features that predict if a rellationship will last)", but I didn't find when he returned to those.

Right brain psychotherapy
I actually recognized, years ago, that a man that had a sweeter smell…this included his body odor…was a deal breaker for me. Just like with women, a man’s health greatly affects his odor, especially when perspiring. If that odor is on the sweeter side, I found it unattractive, as opposed to a man with an earthy smell. This also goes with cologne selections. A masculine scent that is earthy is what I find most attractive. Scents such as cedarwood and leather.
This explanation was so smooth it needs a theme song.
I’m thrilled with how much I learned here!
I came for love advice, left with a biology lesson I didn’t ask for
Too much talking about sponsorship

I got excited about Huberman early on… but lord Jesus it didn’t take long to tire of his over the top personality.

Heart and cholesterol medication also lowers a lifedrive, and it can be your sexdrive. Sometimes…….and i mean with some people a low dose of Crataegus monogyna also know as hawthorne tincture or some regular hawthorne tea, next to their medication can help also….actually every herb, just like medication suits a person, but not all people/bodies.
Who has time ?
Sexual parts in the body are not made to use for your own interest. This particular function of human being is not for earning money. It's a necessity of life. It's for the creation of life. Don't use it only for your own entertainment and interest. Don''t use it for earning money or get fame, publicity, recognition and appreciation from others. It's an important part of your body and it has been created for some special purposes. Universe has given us these sex organs not for playing purpose but it's an intense illusion and delusion of life which make us attracted and bind us within the material desire, so that we never the know the truth. Sex increases the karmas of life. The intensity of sex is not comparable with love. Love feelings don't have any comparison.
How can you give the body you have so often trifled with, twisted, contorted, and squeezed dry, the body you have sold to so many, the body that ghoulish men have fought and bite over like dogs—how can you give that body to the one you love most? How can your love be unique? How can your love be for only a special one? Then what difference is there between those ghouls and the person you love? If love is purely physical, then it's impossible for anyone to accept these things. These things only become insignificant when love is soulful. Because soul love is unconditional love.
This video is a total triumph, absolutely outstanding!
I’m amazed by how smoothly you explained everything!
