What’s the difference between spirituality and religion? For the majority of my life, I was opposed to religion and when I would hear the term “spirituality”, I’d just associate it with religion, and therefore saw no interest in pursuing. I’ve now come to realize the two terms are very different. Spirituality refers to a wanting to connect to something higher than oneself, which is like religion, but spirituality is a much broader concept. Religion seeks something higher than oneself but there’s rules to religion. You’re forced to adopt certain beliefs and relay your thoughts and experiences towards the beliefs of that religion. In spirituality, there are no rules. You must find all the answers yourself. In this video, I compare and contrast spirituality and religion on a deeper level.

I’m a science boy as well and only recently I became spiritual after being agnostic for 10 years. I became spiritual because science led me to the Bible and God, but I’m not religious. (I mean no disrespect to anyone who is.)

False argument. You said religion tells you what the truth is but spirituality doesn't, you find it out by yourself. Then you quote Rumi and Chopra to illustrate point. You HAVE been told what the truth is by Rumi and Chopra and others who hold the pantheistic worldview of Hindu non dualism, and you have believed them. This is therefore no different to a religion. You said that to question ( and reject) the limiting idea that Jesus is the son of God, is spiritual. Then also to question the truth claims of Deepak Chopra is also the spiritual thing to do. the trick of "spirituality" : it persuades followers that they are following only themselves and are beyond doctrine and belief when in reality they are following the doctrine and beliefs of others. This is what the serpent said to Eve in Genesis 3.
The idea that spirituality is based on direct experience of divine reality and Christianity isn't, is also completely mistaken. One only becomes a Christian as the result of being born again by the holy Spirit, as taught by Jesus ( John 3). This involves a direct experiential life changing encounter with God. John 17:3. Deepak Chopra doesn't know anything about this, not having experienced it. That's why he and all the other new spiritual teachers conclude that Christianity is based on nothing but dogmatic belief without experience. The fact is that non dual awakening and rebirth by the holy Spirit are two entirely different things, coming from different sources. This is outside the paradigm of " spirituality".
People who are religious are living in unconsciousness.

Then Jesus rose from the dead and was seen by hundreds (it’s no fairytale). He fulfilled all the prophecies of the promised Savior. Please, today, repent and trust Jesus, and God will forgive you and grant you the gift of eternal life (Eph. 2:8,9). Then, to show your gratitude, read the Bible daily and obey it.

What is religion?
Religion is the congregation of those (infected with) hosting the same or similar beliefs.
A 'belief' is, ultimately, a delusion.
True Salvation/Enlightenment/Mystic transcends all delusion.
'Spirituality' is Hell's delusionally vain version, through a glass very darkly, of true Salvation!
I see no difference between the two.
Christians pay and pray their lives away, trying to avoid a hell they already blindly live in. The spiritual has been through hell, been there done that, and has moved on.

Religion is a set of special practices. Spirituality is a close connection with the divine. Religion asks us to follow rules; spirituality invites exploration. Both give purpose, but spirituality grows from awareness. Today, I honor the inner journey with sincerity, presence, & living connection. The truth is, I take what helps, leave the rest, & walk a path with God shaped by what serves my life best.
Spirituality in my opinion is finding the light from inside. And that's what I love about it
