1/5 of Americans and 1/3 of adults under 30 describe themselves as “spiritual but not religious,” which is to say, they don’t care very much about God, but they find themselves very interesting. We will discuss this postmodern theology with Tyler Blanski, author of “An Immovable Feast: How I Gave Up Spirituality for a Life of Religious Abundance.” Then, President Trump secures the release of three American hostages from North Korea, our National Guard protects our border, and last night’s GOP Senate primaries show good signs for Republicans in November.

This gonna get the dislikes because of DW's edgy athiest libertarian crowd.
Religion is antithetical to Gods system of grace. Religion is man's efforts using "works of the flesh" to gain salvation and Gods approval. Faith is believing Gods grace work of salvation was already done on the cross. Grace vs works based (religion) is the real issue.
I love it. Trump and his cabinet are actually doing something. They make it seem like he's doing stuff without any conferences with his people. what does it matter if they are 3,000 miles away? Do they not know we live in a interconnected world with the internet, cell phones, etc.? What does 3000 miles away matter? See this is just how dumb all these people against Trump. No one is going to care.
Trust me, 3,000+ miles away won't effect the effectiveness of communications between Trump and any other cabinet members. With SAT COMs you'd have to be buried inside a lead box to prevent communications. I mean just look at the interview Mike has. The guy is in his car and still able to have an interview. Welcome to the 21st century. Cause for some reason these people think it's still the 20th century.
I also love how Tyler Blanski makes mention of how the commandments don't come in conflict. I wish people would use this kind of explanation when it comes to the Bill of Rights. The same concept applies. Not one natural right supersede another. It goes along with how they like to say, for example, that the 2nd amendment infringes on their right to life. (at least that's what gun grabbers used to say) All rights, as with the commandments, are all equal, and aren't superseded by another.
Reagan's personal secretary claims credit for the coat thing. 🙂
So Knowles supports the idea of women priests and is happy working for an anti-Christian boss.

Hillary's AIDS? Is that why she was forever tumbling down stairs?
God did not make the saints, saints. Neither did Jesus. Worshipping saints is worshipping false idols. They were mere people. They did good things but in the end they were imperfect people. I believe that if they truly believed in Jesus, they are in heaven, made whole and perfect and with God, as is everyone else who truly believed in Jesus while they were on Earth. They are not there fielding prayers for God. That suggests that God cannot handle it all himself, which implies that he is not actually all powerful. It also suggests that God does not have a perfect plan and that his will can be changed. So please, read the Bible. Most of the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church aren't in there. I'm not opposed to your basic argument, but using a Bible based church, like Baptists, for your reference would be more defenedable.
Born and raised catholic, still tries to convince people to join a religion despite the crimes of the catholic church. Didnt the new pope say himself that hell doesnt really exist. Shh…cover that one up, it wasnt a 'real' interview when he said that so it doesnt count. The new pope also said you can be religious without going to church all the time (im paraphrasing here) so…i dunno who to believe. Michael Knowles or the pope. How about neither. Sounds to me like religion is dividing people once again.

Freeing prisoners from N Korea is just a distraction from Stormy ofcourse!
Obama = 💀 Trump = winning MAGA
Your theology sounds like nails on a chalkboard Knowles. I recommend you pick up the Bible and read it for yourself. Praying to anyone besides God is blasphemy. Also, your works can't save you. Salvation is only by grace (Ephesians 2:8-9). And no, you did not choose to believe in Jesus solely by your free-will. God has to first bless you with faith before the eyes of your heart can be opened (John 6:44).
good ol' 21st century Neopaganism 2.0 resold with better PR.
False Idols everywhere and God nowhere.
Jeremy Boreing have a very interesting name
Great job Mike, keep up the good work on DW
You are really smug about religion, which is a big part of why people don't like religion. People like you, that try to make them feel dumb and inferior, make people want to stay away from the church.
Strawman: spiritual but not religious people hate the church!
Reality: a lot of us don't care either way about the church. You're the one obsessed with what others are doing with their spirituality.
There IS authentic spirituality — see, for example: Ss. Teresa of Avila, John of the Cross, Ignatius of Loyola. . . and many more!
A truly thinking man can't be involved in the Catholic Church. They have literally butchered millions of true bible believers all in the name of Christ. The Catholic church, simply put, is Un-Biblical in their approach towards a relationship with the creator. Michael, contact me if you would like a conversation about what Biblical Christianity has always looked like down through the ages.
From what I observe there are many multiples more people who are religious but not spiritual than people who are spiritual but not religious. Looking at you, my humanist friends.
LOVE Matt. I am a christian Millennial and i deeply religious. Its fine and works.
Would love to hear him address Religious But Not Regenerated… "Lord, Lord, didn't we…?" … "I never knew you."
Knowles is my ultimate favorite!!!!!!
Wtf YouTube just blocked Ben Shapiro’s last video today woooooooow!!!
Micheal Knowles, send my regards to your barber
This is not hard people. We should pray thinking about the saints, about mary, about the nations, on the eve of an important decision, but Only for God.
Someone in the Bible has already prayed to issaias? No
You're on roll, Knowles. Keep up the great work!
Your characterization of spiritual but not religious is flawed. What people generally mean by saying that and I know because I used to say it, is that you believe in God but you see the faults in organized religion.
DOnnie boy IS our oldest president ever i believe (at election)
That's because religion sucks. Less and less people want to associate themselves with any kind of organized religion (a.k.a. group think) but still believe in a higher power.
DOES "BECOMING NOTHING" INCLUDE BECOMING A THIRD WORLD HELLHOLE? (ala Ann Coulter) Regarding Michael's comment about how, if an organization or other entity expands to include everyone or everything, it becomes nothing….That is exactly what has happened to most of California, especially the big cities like L.A. and Frisco. What used to be a beautiful, temperate subtropical paradise has now become endless desertified sprawl. We have opened our doors to so many foreigners, both legal and illegal, that–not only is there massive overpopulation, traffic, noise, crime, dwindling resources, and endangered wildlife due to human encroachment and development–but the unique ambience of the Sunshine State has been all but lost. I am a native southern Californian and I don't recognize it anymore. It is disgraceful that American citizens and their quality of life have been sacrificed at the altar of being a "sanctuary state." Like many other people who remember when this place was habitable, affordable, safe, and pleasant, I feel no other choice but to leave in the next few years. Congratulations to Jerry Brown and all four of the current Democratic candidates for Governor, you may pat yourself on the back for not being "racist," but neither are you patriots nor will you ever EVER have my votes again…wherever it is I choose to move. NOTE: Why oh why, when politicians and most others discuss DACA, the Wall, chain migration, overstayed VISAs or any other immigration-related issue, is there never EVER any mention of the ravaging effects of overpopulation on both the environment and the human race? Such incredible hypocrites are the liberals, claiming to be environmentalists yet taking every measure to destroy it through an open border policy. https://m.facebook.com/EnvironmentalistsAgainstHumanOverpopulation/?ref=bookmarks
I feel like you misunderstand Protestant theology. It's not that we hate Mary and other saints, it's that we see no reason to pray to them. Perhaps there are some people who hate them, but that would only be because they haven't studied their theology and history. The problem you have, is that you can't tell me in Scripture, where it says that it is okay to pray to dead saints. Why pray to fallen, sinful dead people, when you can follow the perfect, risen, living God? There is a balance between faith and obedience, you have two extremes in Christianity: those, like Catholics, who focus so much on obedience that they fall into legalism. I have met more people who are former Catholics, because the freedom from the law that comes through Christ, has often been forced back upon people in the Catholic Church. The other extreme is the loosey goosey faith that you are talking about where they don't care about how you live, as long as you "believe". Neither of these are true. Most protestants see faith as of more importance, because our perfection comes not from our works, but on Christ's. We need not feel the weight of guilt because Christ has paid the price for us. We have faith that because of Christ's perfect life and death, we are made perfect through that faith. Out of love and honor to Christ, we try to obey His commands. Lastly, unfortunately, a lot of Catholics, especially in other countries, actually worship Mary more than Christ and don't have the gospel. I will never pray to Mary, because like me, she was just a mortal, sinful person and has no power to answer my prayers. I pray to and worship only the divine: Christ, who is God in flesh. Any other worship is heresy to the faith of the Church.
I just don't understand the praying to saints. I don't pray to a exceptional servant in heaven because he is not God. Maybe someone can clear that up.
Nice Mr. Knowles. Did you know Thatcher also use to brag along with Raegan that they didn't need more than a few hours of sleep. Then they both ended up with Alzheimers…. Yep, lack of sleep is heavily linked to mental disease. Trump will end in similar fashion, the signs are already there. Good for PR, bad for brain.
I think it's more that people believe in some kind of higher power (be that God or something else entirely), but don't ascribe to the stories or rules defined in religious text, or else don't enjoy the cult-like mentality of many religious organizations. Why should I follow someone else's interpretation of the Bible? He's only a man himself. Why can't I find my own path to God?
I do not believe this at all!!!! I am Spiritual. You can not just group us all together, You would have to find out what that means to each person.
This is stupid. He was hostile, had a fully formed opinion and put everyone who disagrees in the same bag, RIGHT OFF THE BAT. "And now I'm gonna talk to this guy and we'll nod at each other's opinion as if this confirms anything". When someone says they're spiritual it means they believe there's a spiritual side to life. That's it and you can't derive anything else from it or disprove it. You cant even give any proof of your own superstitious belief system, let alone dismiss any other's.
Describing the difference between 'religious' and 'spiritual' is akin to changing the name of 'homosexual' to 'gay'. The attempt to divorce the term from 'negative stereotypes', while behaving exactly the same way, so you can feel 'good' within culture. It's a three card monte trick
At first I thought he said Hillary's AIDS, not Hillary's aides.
You’re “Infallible” pope is not helping your case.
Thank you for your amazing endless wisdom, enthusiasm furthermore teaching to back-up my voyage to becoming ever more consciously alert moreover spiritually connected.
“Spiritual but not religious” means they have no intention of exercising discipline and they like spooky stuff.
Do you think your sins are too big to be forgiven?

People are flocking to Catholic churches because they're closer to paganism than evangelical churches. Catholic teachings are easier for the common unspiritual man to stomach.
Otto Warmbier was an IDIOT. Who goes to North Korea?!
I'm neither spiritual or religious – it's all bollocks.
