Former U.S. Air Force Pararescueman Scott Gearen recounts the parachuting accident that nearly took his life – and the near-death experience that followed.
During a training jump, another jumper collided with Scott in midair at high speed, destroying his parachute, knocking him unconscious, and leaving him to hit the ground at an estimated 100 mph. Scott describes finding himself outside his body, looking down at the scene below before being surrounded by a peaceful white light and moving toward three mysterious figures.
As he approached them, Scott heard the words, “It’s time to go now.” His response: he wasn’t ready.
