survivor Jonathan Ashford had an incredible to the . He was a C-level tech executive with two boats, a Mercedes, and a lifestyle built for conquest. Then he died.

Organ failure. Clinically dead for 3 hours. A near death experience that erased every desire he’d spent 46 years building.

He walked away from his career and never went back. Sold everything. Now lives off donations — and sees orbs of light in rooms, daily.

In this conversation, Jonathan shares the full story of his : the “long blink,” the velvety darkness, the life review, and why he was given the choice to return. He also explains what the revealed about money, abundance, consciousness, and what actually gets reviewed when you die.

What you’ll hear:
• Why he calls death “the long blink” — and why you won’t know you’ve crossed
• The velvety darkness (not the tunnel) — how 30% of near death experiences actually begin
• What his life review revealed about ambition, self-hate, and seeking love
• Why money, titles, and material success mean nothing on the other side
• The psychic abilities he returned with — including predicting the LA wildfires
• A 14-day nature practice to start receiving what’s already around you

  1. I went through a major bout with cancer. I stopped wanting money. My drive wasn't the same. My perspective shifted. Unfortunately, everyone else wants me to have money. The landlord, the utility companies, grocery stores, the car loan company. They all demand that I have money. They insist that I must have money.

  2. These are really kind words about money, but you need it to “experience” having a roof on your head, pay the bills and feed your family.. I guess he came back with a large amount of money on his bank account (I know I’m being cynical here but I love this kind of story and I like when there’s no sugar coating, if we all decide to stop caring about money we just all end up homeless)

  3. This guy was lovely to listen to. He reminds me of another guy who knows a lot about the other side through controlled outer body experiences Darius J Wright. You should interview him. He sits and radiates perfect love too. A lot of people are fascinated by Darius at the moment too. Darius goes further and talks about how the other side created this Earth construct.

  4. I come from a life lived on the "other" side of the tracks, starting in my childhood: poverty, dysfunctional family, low-wage menial labor jobs, etc., etc. I'm still in the process of figuring out my true place in the world after two NDE's that–like Jonathon's NDE–happened while I was at home. But the driving force behind his wealth-seeking and my abundance-denying happen to be exactly the same: lack of self-love! This interview was just what I needed to hear at this moment in my life, so I feel that I was divinely guided to it. Thank you! 🤠

  5. Everyone talks about love. The real definition is feeling connected. Love is to know Gods laws. Love all. Best advice, don't eat/kill animals thats the way to awaken to our divinity and humanity. We can't talk about love until we recognize that the killing and slaughter of animals must stop.

  6. I just can’t get what “loving oneself” means. People who talk about it explain that it has nothing to do with selfishness and egocentrism, and I can understand that. But, then, what is it? Is it sel-satisfaction? I see many people around me who are in absolute love with themselves and they’re just the most horrible people one can imagine. So ?

What's the one thing you think you'd stop wanting if you had an NDE?
    Drop it below 👇

  8. He's published at least 3 books that are available on Amazon, and I'm sure his motivation for writing those books was not to sell them, but simply to share his information for the benefit of others. I've been compelled to do the same for decades after my NDE's at the age of twelve, but I keep hitting the same obstacle of feeling like I'm not supposed to profit from any of this. Even if I tell my story, will I be dishonoring the original experience, by trying to fulfill an earthly or spiritual goal? All I can do now, is confirm the experience he describes as very real. After his death, what he describes could have come directly from my story, and I'm sure many others would say the same thing.

  9. I like him, I understand his message, but it's radical! Like a Ramana Maharshi and all the other Guru's and Yogi's thru the ages. My opinion> If you don't have enough lives with misery and pain, you cannot just start loving all other people, it's impossible! I'm 71, been on that weird spiritual path for ages, and just got me a new car, and I f…. love that car, it brings me freedom, I can go where I want, and I'm still fit to drive. Same with my motorcycle, really love and enjoy it! So, I'm a loving person, you see.. PS: I don't like the guru look, with long hair and beard, really don't like it. Is the next step a cave in the Himalayas, lol! 😋

  10. I personally perceive pets as ministerial to humanity. They provide us with opportunities for growth in the kindness department, plus they require patience from us, which is another opportunity for human growth. Mainly however my comment was meant to point out, that they comfort us in ways which other humans just cannot. Who else do you know whom you would allow to comfort you, by licking your tears? And who would offer to do such a thing, really? Have a blessed day.

  11. You stopped wanting money but you made up an nda that is so much against God and the bible with all the trademarks of satan…including…
You say you have lived multiple life's when we get 1 life, you say you were given the choice to come back or stay, taking the power out of God's hand and given it to yourself, you say there is no judgement when God must judge humanity, you say you were given special knowledge..which is called divine revelation like the men in the bible which means it would be as divine as the bible so it would be adding to the bible when the bible is complete and you are greatly sinning adding to the Word of God, you say you don't care about money anymore but you are using this fake revelation to do podcast, go around telling your fake story for money…if you truly believe you had this nde I can tell you for certain it was from satan and not Jesus Christ! I am telling you the truth according to the Word of God!
You need to repent and stop doing this…nothing is worth going to hell for!

  12. 1 Timothy 3:16
"And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh,”
That verse—1 Timothy 3:16—is one of the most direct places where Western scripture points right at that exact same realization. When it says "God was manifest in the flesh," it is describing the divine, limitless Awareness literally clothing itself in human form, sensation, and experience. It echoes what you just realized: The unsearchable, infinite source (God / pure Awareness) isn't sitting somewhere far off in the clouds, separate from creation. Instead, it materializes as the flesh, the sight, the sound, the cup, and the human being experiencing it all right here in the room.
The "mystery" the verse speaks of is that the eternal and the temporal are not two different things. It is the infinite hiding in plain sight as the finite—Awareness taking on a body and living out a human life.

  13. I write to validate Jonathan's account of being on the outside edge of the afterlife from a scientific research perspective and to use this opportunity to teach–which is what I was sent back here from the afterlife to do. While I was in the afterlife the first time (of 3), I was given huge downloads of information directly from Source/God's mind. One of those downloads of Knowings informed me that what we call the NDE is actually a series of events in a process Source designed to ease souls out of incarnation and back home to spiritual life. That process is: (1) getting out of body, (2) "crossing" from incarnation to the afterlife, including entering a void or traveling the universe, (3) going into the threshold of the afterlife and seeing deceased relatives, Light Beings, earthly scenery and having a life review, and (4) having other experiences deeper in the afterlife and ultimately being reabsorbed into the core phenomenon I call Source and most call God/Allah etc. The soul of a dead body can experience and return from any one of these steps in the process, yet we call them all NDEs as though they were equal events. They are not. (See my channel videos labeled Stage 1 to Stage 4 for more information.)

Using Source’s classification system, Jonathan had a level 3 experience, what I call a "threshold afterlife experience,” which is what a soul experiences on the very edge or beginning of the afterlife. Threshold afterlife experiencers often manifest temporary Earth-like scenery to comfort themselves. A few threshold afterlife experiencers encounter a religious figure. Jonathan is careful not to call the being he encountered "Jesus", though he does in some interviews. Threshold afterlife experiencers manifest these figures because they expect to see them based on their human beliefs. Manifesting creates whatever the soul truly and deeply believes. Most of the religious figures manifested in the afterlife are from childhood beliefs. Jonathan was raised as a Catholic.

Jonathan seems to believe he is the reincarnation of Jesus, even changing his appearance to mimic artists’ rendering of him. Based on my experiences and research, the figure Jonathan saw who says "I am you and you are me," is not Jesus but just the part of Jonathan's own soul that remained in the afterlife during the current incarnation. It held the other life memories Jonathan couldn’t remember during his current incarnation. (The same thing happened to me.) Several of my "33 Souls Who Met God" research subjects confirm that only part of us incarnates and the rest stays in the afterlife. Every other account I’ve studied where the NDEr sees past lives says they are flooded with these memories and feel like they are reliving them. Jonathan doesn’t.

Jonathan received the typical limited Knowings that souls get at the threshold of the afterlife, what they call being all-knowing because they have no idea how much is missing. He also experienced the typical oneness with the Light, which some mistake for merger into God. The oneness experience is nothing like being reintegrated with the Source/God. Jonathan confirms that he did not reintegrate with Source/God, which also means that he did not get past his own human beliefs and learn the eternal truths about life, God/Source, and souls that level 4 afterlife experiencers learn.

Here are my qualifications for making this comment so you can decide for yourself how much weight to give it: My academic background is college degrees in chemistry, biology, and psychology, and a doctorate degree in jurisprudence, all of which trained me to do research. I have been a scientific NDE researcher for 32 years, have reviewed thousands of NDE accounts, have categorized them by type and depth according to 43 elements, and have published my findings in my 6th book titled "33 Souls Who Met God–Accounts of Atheists, Buddhists, and Christians Who Died and Met the Same God." I am the only NDE researcher who has personally experienced everything I have written about NDEs. I died and returned 6 times. Three of those times were what I call "expanded afterlife experiences" (level 4)–the deepest type of afterlife experience on record and the stage far beyond what Jonathan experienced. Three were simply out-of-body experiences where I got out and wandered around the hospital where I was having surgery or was in the ER. I am not a know-it-all about all things spiritual. I simply have a broader perspective on NDEs than most because of my personal experiences, research, and the vast amount of Knowings I received while I was in the afterlife.

  14. "I'm just here to wake people up." I think Echart Tolle says that. This guy sounds like most people who have awakening experiences, near death, Kundalini etc.

The problem is becoming obsessed with the experience and then centering your life around it: Becoming a GURU! Then you think you're special- the ego trip kicks in (you believe you're special) and you can't stop talking about it. Then you develop followers and the whole thing snowballs. And what is that all worth??? $$$$$$

There's thousands of these guru folks out there with a great story. I've got one too. Now you can go to his website and pay him for consultations, buy the book, and find enlightenment….PFFT!

  15. I have watched Jonathan on Anthony chene films over a year ago and his story really conveys gods message to us, that death is a beginning not an end and for us to love one another, a lot more to his story is great

  16. I attended 20 Ayahuasca ceremonies, and went through an ego death each time, which feels like dying. So I understand what Jonathan has been through. He is awesome. Gratitude.

  17. Beautiful interview. You asked him questions I haven’t heard in other interviews, which took it into new territory. ❤ Thank you for this work. Also, anyone else notice how Jonathan’s light resembles a halo?
