Atheist vs Christian vs Spiritual Thinker: Is Not Believing

Greg Koukl (Christian), Alex O’Connor (atheist), and Dr K (psychiatrist) explore why so many feel lost, whether God is the answer, how death anxiety drives our search for meaning, and how YOU can find direction…today.

This isn’t just a discussion. It’s a confrontation with life’s hardest challenge: finding meaning, and how faith, reason, and compete to fill the void.

Greg Koukl is a Christian apologist, speaker, and founder of Stand to Reason, Alex O’Connor is a philosopher, writer, and host of the Cosmic Skeptic channel, and Dr K, is a Harvard-trained psychiatrist, mental health educator, and co-founder of Healthy Gamer.

Together, they discuss:
If God gave you a purpose…what does that actually mean?
Why “do what makes you happy” is terrible advice for finding meaning
How comfort is quietly killing your sense of purpose
The shocking truth about modern loneliness and identity loss
The “paperclip problem” that exposes religion

  1. Quick question, do you like these types of convos? If so please hit the like button on the vid – that’s the best way to let us know ❤ (also, would be doing me a big favour if you could subscribe & join our community 🙏🏾🥲) i appreciate you – SB! X

  2. Listening to these 4 guys is great because each one of them has a very defined paradigm that is different than the other 3. Alex is clearly wrestling with enlightenment perspectives, the Christian guy is obviously coming from a premodern western Protestant perspective, Steven is the lone modernist who doesn’t really know enough of the other two points of view to accept either of them. Dr.K understands both the East and the West and can bridge the gaps between all of them. The questions each wrestle with explains the limits of their thinking on these existential topics.

  3. Greg, stop saying Ok, ok, ok. Exposes uncertainty. It shows that you really haven’t thought things through.
So children die because someone ate an apple thousands of years ago. How sick.

  4. Good conversation. But I get hung up on Alex's preaching. I don't know him, and hate to judge since my argument could not be simpler. But Philosophy should come from hard times and experience. Pain is the real lecturer. Good Books are amazing but, rarely a great teacher. Experience acquired through pain makes one internalize knowledge. Verbal IQ off the charts, but a D for philosophical persuasion. He can certainly speak more eloquently at 26 than I could at 45.

  5. Hey Alex, can you state your arguments without quoting or telling "X" guy said this so it is true, I need a very un-opiniated atheistic answer for half of the stuff you say, big fan BTW, but would love to see you take this approach.

  6. Many would or could argue about whether humans gaining a small amount of moral thinking: the knowledge of good and evil, is anything bad or good. It's also true that even though Adam and Eve and the Garden is a great story about beginnings, there were actually other people groups around but not in the Garden of Eden. Many would say that the creation myths should not be considered literally true but that they do involve some truth.

  7. 日本人から言わせれば無神論者 vs キリスト教徒 vs スピリチュアル思想家はだれが一番金が稼げるか競争しているように見える。本当の神は八百万に宿るのにね

  8. That Christian guy is dragging the conversation down so bad… it's like he only wants to be on the offense towards the atheist guy (even though he literally isn't even attacking him or saying anything that he could take offense) and completely ignores the conversation.

This is why FANATICISM is just bad for humanity.
