I was probably 22 already 4 years in in the Fleet married living off base. I had one little wisdom tooth showing so they wanted to pull that. I told the doc that's fine, Just pull all 4 at once. I dont want to deal with it again. It was a terrible decision. I was black-and-blue and green and yellow All down my throat and jaw for 3 weeks after that but also on bed rest at home
my basic class had 90% go to dental and lots of blood an gause. 10 ppl had infections and 2 ppl had to have additional surgery. 1 had tonsills sliced and 1 had issues with the stitches. They almost died and all had pain for 2 weeks.
Classic Army bullshit 😂 This type of story is not that uncommon. Shit I have one dealing with smallpox/anthrax vax and being left for dead with a 106 fever, after getting chewed out by my platoon sgt ofcourse.
My buddy has his wisdom teeth pulled in the marines He wound up intubated in the ICU and almost died The infection was so bad the swelling occluded his airway A year later he was eating and a small rubber drain came out of his inner cheek He wound up with a brain tumor a few years later and passed away in his 30s Marines messed him up

Just out of AIT back in 1999 my platoon sgt told me i had to go to dental to get a cavity fixed. I get to dental and there's a capt. that says "tomorrow WE'RE going to Portland, OR." He had to do his final at the University of Oregon which consisted of 3 types of fillings and I was his test subject. Terrible experience, I ended up getting over 10 shots because he kept missing the nerve he was shooting for. Some aspects of the Army is just crazy.
I had all 4 out at the same time and in the same room was a few stragglers from my Coy all looking like Chipmunks with puffed up faces laughing at each other and taking the piss 😂
I had all 4 wisdom teeth extracted on same day while in basic training. Brought profile back to drill Sgt and he crumpled it up and said get back in formation. Never missed a beat… 1984 Harmony Church Ft. Benning, GA
IF that ever happens to you move hell if you have too to get a few "black tea" bags and spend time with it on your tooth socket morning and night. Those infections will kill you fast. It killed the son a friend of mine in the military just exactly like he said.
Marine Corps took my wisdom teeth out and blessed me with a 25 mile fulll ruck hike in gas masks the next day. Stiches came out and spitting blood. Most ganster hike I ever did lo
Well that’s a horrifying story. In 03 when I was in the dorms a buddy got his taken out. He was smoking and chewing dip 😮 yeah bad dry socket and huge cheek 😂
That's how they treated me! I had bilateral pneumonia and pleurisy. Good thing I never got to the gas chamber or else I wouldn't be writing this right now. The tough guy bullshit is gonna keep getting these people messed up. Always go to sick call! Screw what the DI's say. They will never have to live with this!
Nobody should get their wisdom teeth removed if they don't have a problem,. I actually am fortunate I have to say I had all 4 of mine come in or either way. I remember specifically the bottom ones coming in because I could feel skin on top of it. So it was like a flap of skin that was on top of the tooth they had came through. I didn't have any pain at no time. I believe someone told me or I spoken to someone and they said well, just let it grow in if you don't have a problem, you're not deal with it. I never had a problem.
I hate how prevalent this bullshit is. The week I graduated from AIT they made me go to some crappy army dentist for a fucking cavity and she slipped and punched a huge hole in my gum and I was bleeding everywhere. Get your teeth fixed before you enlist or you will regret it.
Worst Drill Sergeant ever
Bingo this is standard protocol. Dude just had a bad reaction.

Great hat
Still was denied disability benefits.
Army dentists are hacks. I would go to family dentist when I would come home on leave if I needed work done.
Not service connected

And people wonder why veterans don't thrust the military health care system. You volunteer to defend your country and are treated like shit

Absolutely insane
Moral of the story… don’t let superiors play doctor when their title is Instructor
Boot Camp Nightmare
That wisdom tooth was abscessed which is poison.
Last place you want to get seriously sick is the military. Where bad dr and medics go to practice.

Sounds like the Army to me. Oh, the memories.

Absolutely sickening that a soldier cant get the same quality care as a professional athlete.
I'm glad you recovered!
It’s a 50/50 with Mil docs and dentists…they’re either the best or the worst. Your DS was an asshoe!
💝
I think someone does not know what is meant by an NDE.
Inmates get better medical than our soldiers
Was This Extraction did At Ft Jackson, South Carolina ???
That is unacceptable.
Those that can’t do Teach! Thank God your Drill Sergeant wasn’t your battle buddy.
