Selfishness is the core of Western consciousness. Community is the core of African consciousness. All healthy spiritual systems point away from selfishness so the bad choice is obvious… on a personal note, I'm noticing that relating to my ancestors is a stumbling-block. I have perhaps one that I respected enough while they were living to include on an alter / shrine. What to do in this case? TY
