Being Spiritual makes more sense it’s basically saying you believe there’s something out there but you don’t know what it is.
Religious is more close minded and saying only gods out there or Vishnu, Buddha, allah, shiva, Etc. it seems very unrealistic to put all your eggs in 1 basket when there’s thousands of baskets. Most people don’t win the lottery same with religion.

This statement seems to invalidate Gen Z/Millennials' experience. Of course we've "heard the music", we grew up going to church with our parents and being exposed to mainstream religion/spirituality our entire lives… and it hasn't been helpful or good for a lot of us.
"Spiritual but not religious" means rejection of the dogmatic practices of organized religion while acknowledging and maybe celebrating the underlying spiritual values that permeate most, if not all, religions: empathy, community, mindfulness, humility, etc.
Saying "have you really heard the music?" feels like he's dismissing our generation's ability to discern what is real, which is pretty unfair considering it's impossible to prove one way or another.
I was trying to talk to my friends pastor one time after inviting them to a music performance by an LDS artists and I tried to ask him questions about his faith and testimony and he told me he was a spiritual man but not a spiritual person.
I don’t understand that.
This description of course includes most religious figures on social media, who are really only interested in clicks and likes and $$$$
I know "Our Father, who art in heaven" by heart, but I don't recite it, because I only feel the need to pray for little concrete earthly things for me and my friends that would be weird to ask from creator deity, especially weird one like in the Bible.

I didn't "hear the music" when I went to Christian church for 30 years. It was only after I left the church and meditated by myself that I felt more spiritually connected.

Only 2 option. Either 1. All religions are wrong or 2. Only one religion is right and all otners are wrong There's no 3rd possibility. Every single world religion makes extremely self excluive claims about themselves, thereby ruling out any chance of two being true.

Spiritually connected with my religion but my awakening is in the process of finding peace and harmony.
Religion is a set of special practices. Spirituality is a close connection with the divine. Religion asks us to follow rules; spirituality invites exploration. Spirituality is simple. The Creator is Love. And Love is the Source of Everything, so It is Everywhere. Give Love unconditionally and the Spiritual World will be by your side. No need for buildings, dogmas or intermediaries.
