Dr. Mary Neal is an accomplished spinal surgeon whose Near-Death Experience (NDE) has inspired millions. That story, told in Angel Studios’ new film “After Death” (premiering Oct. 27 in theaters) unfolded on a South American river when she became submerged while kayaking and says she visited heaven. “My husband and I are avid kayakers,” Neal told CBN Digital. “We’ve kayaked for decades all around the country [and] internationally.” But when they joined friends in Chile for a special trip for her husband’s birthday, their jovial time was shattered.
Neal ended up going over a waterfall and experienced something she could “never have dreamed up.” “The boat and I were immediately submerged under eight to 10 feet of water,” she said. “I didn’t panic. I set about trying to free me or free the boat … but the weight of the water and the force of the current was too great for me to do anything.” As she pondered her options, she came to the conclusion she would very likely die. Finding herself forced to face eternity, Neal said she asked God for His will to be done.
“The moment I asked that, I was immediately overcome with this very physical sensation of being held and comforted and reassured that everything would be fine,” she said. And this is where Neal’s story takes a wild turn: she said she found herself in heaven.
“I never felt alive and then dead, conscious and then unconscious,” Neal said. “I felt conscious and then more conscious, alive and then more alive.” She added, “I was being held by Christ.”

I have seen this lady before and her story was different back then. She said that she was floating above the place she died and was seeing everything that happened.
What do we mean by dying in the profound sense?
To most it means the continuation of our egotism with its reference to memories and experiences.
But psychological dying – ending our egotism is really the priority, in that there is newness, a psychological rebirth with its innocence.
Afterlife and Reincarnation is intrinsically linked to Egotism, selfishness…
Please let me explain…We are fundamentally selfish entities. Self-centred human beings are completely trapped in selfish consciousness.
You/We are completely selfish- thinking about ourselves, our worries, our family, you, you, you – and you can move that limited "centre" to social work, spiritual work, to political work, religious work – but it is still the "self-centred entity" operating.
If we are honest with ourselves we will see that it is this egotistical limited entity trapped in its memories and attachments which craves continuity…
It is the identification of myself with the rich or poor, the high or the low. Identification of myself with the nation, family, group, identification of myself with a higher being- Identification of myself with some ideal and so on; that is, always the "me" moving from the centre to the circumference, to the periphery. And therefore it is very limited self enclosed energy, rather it is self-destructive, divisive energy.
The total ending of this movement of egotism from the centre to the circumference is true death purified, in an absolute sense.
Then that energy which is causeless, is uncontaminated, it has a different quality, a different dimension… it has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with accumulated human thought with its egocentrism (which we are entrenched in)..
When one has an experience, a new vision, say of a Saint, or Religious idols, etc, that vision is the projection of our/your own conditioning.
The non-believers if they visions at all, will see the perfect state with rules all beautifully arranged where everything is bureaucratically laid down according to ideology.
Or if you are a believer you will have your visions and so on, based on that belief; it all depends on your conditioning. And when you recognise that vision, you recognise it because it has already been experienced in thinking, thought about, already known, reinforced from ideation. So there is nothing really original or true in the recognition of a vision.
So experience is always strengthening the ‘me’. The more you are entrenched in your experience, the more the self gets strengthened. As a result of this, you have a certain superficial strength of character, strength of knowledge, of belief, which you display to other people because you know they are not as clever as you are, and because you have the gift of the pen or of speech and you are cunning.
… because the self is still acting, so your beliefs, your masters, your castes, nationalism, your economic system are all a process of isolation, and they therefore brings contention with its divisions.
You must, if you are at all serious or earnest in this, comprehend and therefore dissolve this centre completely and not justify it. That is why we must understand the process of experience/thinking – which is building/creating the self-centred entity.
All the various forms of discipline, accomplishments, belief and knowledge surely only strengthen the self. And, yet we want that limited divisive entity to continue – and therefore contribute to the continued disorder and chaos in the world.
Why would we want to dissolve, be free of this self? We simply don't "see" the danger of its destructive separative divisive energy.
We think there are various means of being something, namely: belonging to a group or nation, identification, belief, etc; but all of them are at the same level; one is not superior to the other, because all of them are equally powerful in strengthening the self the ‘me’. So can I see the ‘me’ wherever it functions, and see its destructive forces and energy? Whatever name I may give to it, it is an isolating force, it is a destructive force, and I want to find a way of dissolving it. You must have asked this yourself – ‘I see the ‘I’ functioning all the time and always bringing anxiety, fear, frustration, despair, misery, not only to myself but to all around me. Is it possible for that self to be dissolved, not partially but completely?’ Can we go to the root of it and destroy it? That is the only way of truly functioning, is it not? I do not want to be partially intelligent but intelligent in an integrated manner. Most of us are intelligent in layers, you probably in one way and I in some other way. Some are intelligent intellectually in business work, some others in office work, and so on; people are intelligent in different ways;
but we are not "integrally" intelligent. To be integrally intelligent means to be without the self.
The self is the source of all divisions, and in understanding ourselves, freeing ourselves of all conditioning and selfishness is there a possibility of living differently, therefore seeing the true meaning of death, life, love, unity, and compassion…. All else is delusion, with security in identity, and egocentrism with its ignorance.

Shame that Christians talk about having NDE's but then are quick to make it into a book to sell or so on. Freely you have been given, so freely give. I do hope she actually narrated somewhere for free what her experience was like because this short clip has not told us anything of substance. Sorry, but that's how it sounds to me.
Wow… I went through a life-threatening accident myself, and I totally understand that moment of surrender and feeling held by something greater. It changes everything… Has anyone else ever felt that kind of peace in the darkest moments? 🙏
I don't believe in all death or NDE stories, but I do this one. I also believe in Colton Burpo's story(Heaven Is For Real)when he wasn't quite 4. Today he is 26 years old and such a nice young man.

Good Lord, then he starts putting words into her mouth with " Ok, so after everything went black" and she's like " Huh?it never went black" so this guy just literally started putting words into her mouth. So distracting to have him continuously and abruptly breaking into her story.

I hope you are right. The idea of death has had me crippled trembling in fear so thank you for sharing your story. I need the light and the love because the forces of darkness have been trying to convince me that God is not real and there is no love or nothing else and love is something humans feel and nothing more. I did leave my body for 5-7 minutes, and there is no such a death experience, just passing over to the other world. I could not share my experience for more than 20 years. She is saying correct 100%.
