Near- experiences are not a new phenomenon. They have occurred for millennia across the world.

Studies of these experiences have revealed consistent patterns, namely a sense of overwhelming peace and well-being.

While there is still controversy in regard to the cause of near-death experiences, they are now known to be fairly common.

  1. 3:07 if the last person she talked to was her roommate, then it would make sense he would have visited between the doctor coming the next morning, and she was just playing a prank on him

  2. Did this doctor stop to think the roommate could have shared that story with her while she was still unresponsive and now has it has a solid memory? So gullible. Damn I miss James Randi.

  3. This is just a random thought that came to mind, and I am not saying this as a critique of any idea but just as something i thought about and wanted to get other views on. Could it be that the reason why people feel like their senses are heightened is actually just because their brain is in such a state that any stimuli could feel extremely vivid or even overpowering?

  4. Since this guy is neurologist & “psychologist” he should be well aware of the creativity of the human brain/imagination. Take the “spaghetti” vision… did the patient while “unconscious” have their eyes open? Because a brain can be in a state of “coma” or unconsciousness and have their eyes open and not be totally aware of what’s happening around them. But the brain will pick up on external phenomena without being “consciously” aware of it until they come out of their state of unconsciousness. Or, the unconscious person might pick up on “audio” cues if there was conversation in or near the room and not be aware of those conversations until they wake up.

There is no other explanation of “NDEs” other than one’s brain picking upon cues from the external environment they don’t become aware of until they awaken. One thing IS for certain… thought/awareness is dependent upon a functioning brain … on some level of consciousness. A truly dead brain is completely devoid of ANYTHING. It can hear, see, think, experience, etc. once it completely fails to function. So NDEs are NOT EXPERIENCES OF ACTUALLY BEING DEAD !

  5. What a wonderful man!

But he said "Scientists don't run away from things they don't understand. They run towards them." But I am sure he knows that it isn't true. How many scientists like the late Stephen Hawking, Richard Dawkins, and Neil Degrasse Tyson run way from things like these NDEs? They would do anything to refute these things because they are atheists/unbelievers, not truth seekers.

Different folks from different cultures describe these things differently because of their different "perception filters".

  6. I was feeling unconscious like lack of oxygen in my body it was difficult to breath though I was aware about my surroundings like I was able to hear sound though not any memories or life best moments flash back I was Just feeling anxious and at some point stopped my self and throw the rope and I changed my decision

  7. I have been daed vor 6 minutes while having a heart transplantation. There was just nothing !!! I just went to sleep and woke up ! If the doc didn´t tell me that I was dead for 6 minutes, I didn´t even realize !!!!

  8. I nearly died six weeks ago from a pulmonary embolism. I was gone for 30 – 40 seconds. For me, I didn't have any of the experiences he mentioned. In my mind, I was on a beach, looking at a palm tree on top of a small sand dune. I didn't see the ocean, but I could hear it. Then a voice in my brain said, "You should get up now." I did. I wish I'd heard different sounds or saw different colors. I didn't. But one thing I remember is a profound sense of calm and peace, that I'd never felt previously. I've tried to hang onto that feeling, but it's difficult.

  9. Whats the distracting needless music noise for?
I'm here for information not that. Do you play music when you give lectures?
    No
    So why here?
So irritating I won't be watching to the end. Bye
BTW So how come we don't have near death experiences when we're asleep? 3:31

  10. I am hoping someone can give me a logical explanation how this could have occurred. Several years ago, me and my roommate were watching the film Apollo 13 on our old 27-inch RCA tube TV in our living room. This was around 2006/7 I think. There is a scene when Ken Mattingly (played by Gary Sinise) is drinking his sorrows away after being scrubbed from the mission where he decides to go to bed just as the “CBS Special Report” interruption was coming up on his TV. He shuts off his TV never seeing the newscast as he walked past his television and goes to bed. At that precise moment, MY TV shut itself off too!!! We were sitting on opposite ends of the couch and I yelled “What are you doing? Turn it back on.” He said: “I didn’t do anything look … the remote is on the coffee table.” And sure, enough it was! Very strange. So, we resumed watching the movie. Much later, there is a scene where Fred Haye’s (played by Bill Paxton) pregnant wife is in her bedroom while watching the news on the TV. She then stands and turns off the TV, sits on her bed and starts to weep. AGAIN, at that precise moment MY TV also shuts itself off and goes dark. My roommate literally yells “I saw it too! WTF?” I SWEAR TO GOD we just looked at each other and tried to figure out how that could have happened once, let alone twice, during the same viewing.
It has never happened again since.

  11. Its completely bull, people who came back to life due to loss of oxygen didn't experience anything like this coz theyre brain shut itself down. Thats all that its just our brain working before we finally die

  12. My mother passed away on her birthday two weeks ago at 52 and I'm needing answers I'm hurting I need to know what was the last thing she felt when she closed her eyes

  13. fairytale for people afraid of death.
    new age Christianity.
All they want is to trick you to buy their new book about it, went to their convention, donate your money for "research".

  14. What a beautiful explanation! I was scared of death and disapearing not so long ago, but then God sent me a sign, and he told me about NDE's. I have listened to many of these. I am someone who believes in God, but also loves science and needs pure proof of stuff to believe in it. So when I started questioning death again, I always comeback to these videos. But this only gives me temporary relief, cause I think, "this doesn't scientificaly make sense!". However, when I heard someone like a doctor or a scientist, or even an athiest say that these experiences are real, I felt so much better! I know that my cat is out there now, and my grandpa is taking good care of him. I know that when my family dies, I will see them again, and that when I die, I will do the opposite of disapear. I will go back to my home. Life is just an experience. We are all spirits/souls, and we are sent here with our soulmates (our family and friends) to get this experience. Then we come back home, and depending on what we did in life, we can feel proud about it. Explanations from people like Dr. Bruce Greyson and Dr. Eben Alexander are solid evidence of an afterlife. People's brains who don't believe in can't comprehend the idea of existence after death. So, believe in what you want to, but we each get one out of two consequinces. We either go to heaven, because we were good people in life, and did the best we could in it, or we rot in hell, because we weren't good people, and ruined other's lives. I hope this helps anyone stuggling with fearing non-existence. God will send you your sign.

  15. I lost my husband, just 9 days ago. I never imagined that grief hurts this much. It's so awful. I miss him so much.

I started to watch this with a sense of disbelief, because a long time ago, after a dental operation, I had a very vivid out of body experience while still unconscious.
I didn't die, wasn't even close; but I was floating around the ceiling, looking down at my dad sat by my bedside, another woman in the neighbouring bed with her husband by her side.
I looked down the ventilation shafts in the tops of the walls, these shafts feeding increased oxygen into the room. I still remember the dust and the one dusty little cobweb in one corner of a shaft.
So, I always imagined it was oxygen depletion that did this, and I was just making it up in my head that I knew all these details, and have for years wondered if these NDE people are just suffering the same thing.
However, I didn't know that the NDE patients could observe people and events in other rooms, and then describe them back to doctors.
I hope they are all telling the truth and didn't just overhear what nurses and doctors have discussed in the room with the unconscious patient. It's easily done.

I hope that, wherever my sweetie pie is, he's safe, that he's not suffering any more, that there's no grief where he is. I hope he waits for me.

  16. I wish everyone in the comment comfort some way somehow. I'm so lost myself. I lost my mum in 2022. I'm still finding something to hold on to. It's a struggle. I battle with myself every day. Nobody is alone in this. I pray for all.

  17. Please stop merging the hindu with the Buddhists. Buddhism is based on truth not like made up stories and so called mythology like Hinduism. Hinduism is a man made culture to divide people into categories. A bunch of Aryans slaughtered the people in this land and made them untouchable. So Hinduism is shit for all the people. Only the people who made themselves Brahmins are the sole guards of this Hinduism.

  19. Okay what really concerns me is probably 99.9 % of these types of videos and or channels
Usually always refer to a connection with all!!!!..
    Period!!!!
    All!!
doesn't matter what religion or background
it's like saying all paths/ roads lead to God!!!
    Let me clear this up
Jesus Christ is the way the truth and the life!!
we only come to God through Jesus Christ
while it's true some of these videos can give people in couragment and hope
It's Faith in Jesus that we should seek

  20. I’ve been thinking a lot about death lately and it’s come along with a lot of anxiety too. Hearing these experiences brings a sense of hope and puts my mind at ease. I’m grateful for these experiences and It makes me think about spirits and how there are probably some people around us from time to time. I guess I feel less alone and know there’s more love than I can imagine right now

  21. 4:19 I have heard that consciousness and thinking is not in the brain its in the heart. Also notice how people say things indicate the words they speak is from their heart its like common phrases to say things are coming from the heart. The brain is like a processor. It’s interesting topic to learn about.
