Africans did not believe in anything before religion. Why would they needed to believe in anything when they knew the truth?

It tells about the different kinds of ideas, principles, and practices. However, it doesn't adequately explain WHY. Where were the Gods to protect them from the evil, greedy people? Where were the ancestors to warn them of impending doom? What was happening in the spiritual realm/ sacred science realm that allowed this to such a horrific extent? Can those gods even be trusted?
As the timeless "Mother of God" (mother and son) iconography suggests, matriarchal and patriarchal spirituality are inseparable and coexist through an understanding of God's eternal cyclical nature.
Represented by the serpent in many creation myths, the living cycle has a trinity of a beginning (head), a middle and end (tail). As above so below, the sexes were created in the image of God's cyclical nature where Mother is the head and opening to all beginnings and Father holds the tail to all endings (through which the sowing of seeds allow for the next great matriarchal rebirth).The joining of the two (symbolized by the Ouroborus or the marriage ring) is the sacred union needed in assuring the creation and continuation of new life cycles. To speak of the present day God as "Our Father" is simply an admission to our collective positioning within the bigger cycle.
As all mothers have direct experience with the creator quality of birthing, so is the direct experience of rebirthing the divinity within (baptism) belong to that which is spiritually matriarchal. (John 3, verse 3-8).
Sekhmet statues (ancient Egyptian) carry most of their weight in symbolic memory of what was a mother culture dedicated to the direct experience of baptism. As the leg shaped hairlocks extend from maternal breasts to the womb of rebirth, the lioness's head proportions are such that they highlight the bust of a second animal figure. The Lioness's ears as eyes and eyes as nose (nostrils) brings to life the figure of a reptile. 'Neath the halo headress of the solar egg, the lioness's egg fertilization process being internal (Set) and the reptile's egg fertilization process being external (Setting), such being key components to the safety of entering the trans-egoic or "born again" state. The life-threatening fear associated with the predatory nature of a lion and/or crocodile encounter is reflective of the intense ego death experiences associated with the transpersonal awakening process.
In spiritually matriarchal times, illumination could be seen as wearing the false beard (ancient Egyptian funerary "ego" death mask) as the high state/status of cyclical self knowing; high awareness of both our upper matriarchal half and our lower (later) patriarchal half (compared with a mini lower body replica, an "as above so below" tail end beard extension); in full recognition of her civilizational Underworld; her inevitable cyclical destiny. The male pharaoh wears his beard tapered in reverse, indicating a pointing upwards towards the patriarchal head, divine representative of God's tail end cycle.
Mary's anointing and wiping of Jesus's feet with her hair can then be seen as "Head to tail" (toe) imagery as she descends her matriarchal head to his patriarchal feet, thus reenacting the high understanding of the divine cyclical process. (John 12, verse 3)
To carry the Ankh (now the female symbol ♀️) was perhaps to symbolically carry that upper and lower understanding. As the upper matriarchal womb symbolized the fertile birthing of civilization, below, the now Christian cross is carried to place emphasis on the lower (later) "End Times" Father principle of the great cycle.
Lord Ganesh, the elephant headed Hindu deity, displays a cyclical head to trunk symbolism and points to the mother head of his matriarchal elephant society. Ganesh (like the elephant) wears God's cyclical nature on his face.

The Catholic Church didn't form in the 11th century. It was founded in the mid 1st century 200 years before the Ethiopian Church was officially founded, and fractured off from Eastern Orthodoxy in the Great Schism of 1054AD, somewhat like the Ethiopian Church did before. These three churches are apostolic, meaning they originate with the apostles as a single unified body of Christ. The Ethiopian Orthodox Church broke off with the other Oriental Orthodox Churches after the council of Chalcedon in 451AD due to a disagreement over the natures of Christ, with the Eastern Orthodox and Catholic Church (then unified as a single body) maintaining the tradition taught by the church fathers. Generally speaking, Oriental Orthodox (and Ethiopian by extension) is closely aligned with historic Christianity. The church has stood for 1600 years and while they had theological disagreements with the rest of the church, they hold more to the authentic traditions than most of the west.
Elaborating more on the Ethiopian church, it didn't develop from African fragments and cultures cultures, but rather officially begun by St. Frumentius, a Greek-speaking Phoenician missionary who brought Christianity to the Aksumite Kingdom in the 4th century AD. Christianity had existed in Ethiopia informally before then, with an Ethiopian eunuch bringing the faith there as recorded in the New Testament Book of Acts. I highly recommend researching the story of St. Frumentius, as it holds great historical significance and demonstrates what it means to be a saint. The Ethiopian Church was an important foundation that held the early church together in a time of crisis, standing as a bastion against a heresy that nearly destroyed the church in its infancy.
The 'Christianity' brought by European colonialism was little more than a shadow of the historic faith that first met the continent and often contradicted its teachings. Spreading the faith through conquest and coercion was widely looked down upon by the fathers of the early church, who advocated for peace (Justin Martyr is an excellent example). Many early Christians believed death was preferrable to killing others, some even being martyred for holding true to this.

Africa is a big continent with different tribes languages, cultures and traditions. Religion has never been our thing, we are traditional or cultural people. Yes we have always believed in God but we did not say it's God, we never used religion.
I believe in Jesus. Did you know that Christianity can align with ethnic cultures? I know since I am a Korean-American Christian myself. If it can align with my culture then so can other cultures. You are all One in Christ no matter your ethnicity. The apostles went around the world, preaching the gospel and spreading the news about Jesus. I don't believe in Korean folk religion like Shamanism or the monotheistic Korean religion, Cheondoism. I don't believe in those religions even though they align with Korean culture. I am of Korean heritage but there are many Korean Christians. You are given free will to believe in Jesus. Always believe in Jesus and he will lead you to Heaven. He is the way, the truth and the life and no matter what persecution you face, Jesus will always protect you. 🙂 Christianity can align with ethnic cultures so whether you are Jewish, African or Asian, you can become Christian. As an Israelite, Im not giving Ethiopians, or any descendant of Ham, credit for anything they say. Especially if its concerning biblical texts. Unless theyre apart of the Solomonic bloodline, the Bible doesnt even concern them.
Voodoo is not a religion it's a practice that some people do, sometimes it harms other people, most of the time it's for that down here in South Africa 🇿🇦, I don't think Sangomas should be banned because it's a cultural thing done for ages. As a Zulu witchcraft has been around for a long time, I do know of religion because my grandmother and grandfather went to church sometimes on my father's side, they were born in the early 1920s so yeah they were probably taught about church, after the British came with their Bibles down here. It's funny how some of our own people fight us today about this religion. I wonder what our lives would be like if the British never arrived. Probably I'd be just a Zulu boy in the Zulu regiments.

When we say “Africa”,do we mean everyone practiced same African spiritually???…..oh what about Ethiopia?……Africa has always been religiously and culturally diverse, this means we had different beliefs not one. For example,Yoruba,Ancient Egyptian religion,Igbo,Akan……am talking religional diversity in Africa not just “African Spirituality”.😅
