  1. The point is that, to my understanding, the ability you describe—arising from childhood abuse or other factors—is a form of hypervigilance, which isn’t always reliable. In contrast, empaths genuinely sense what others feel on a deeper level; even if their caregivers are angry but try to conceal it to avoid upsetting the child, that child will still perceive and understand those emotions.

To put it differently, when you analyze or identify with a persona, as you mentioned in the short, it’s easy to make errors. For instance, individuals with Autism often cannot be accurately “read” based on their behavior—they don’t fit into predictable categories gleaned from gestures, posture, or typical cues. Empaths, however, can understand emotions and the persona itself without relying on such observable patterns. (As far as I know)

  2. So true!!!!That's what C Jung says too.We were emotionally neglected kids that had to find a way to feel safe with unsafe parents or people who looked after us. It can ruin our entire life if we are not seeing or even not willng to see this shadow……but once healed empaths can move mountains and make this planet a better place to live. X

  3. Grew up with a defunctional family to cope I overly compensated in developing a scents of humor and later sports.
All the while scenting the people feeling and where and who to avoid.
    It served me well.

  4. I focus in the 40 people feeling amazing for that I love sort of festival… But sometimes they are bit having fun but numbing… I feel the difference but I can connect with the true joy if they passby

  5. I beg to differ. I’m a super attuned empath. But I grew up with generally loving parents, very traditional, normal people. Maybe a tad bit judgmental but hardly dangerous people. I do believe I’m born super sensitive, my dad is super sensitive too, and it is known that sensitivity is genetic. Which makes me see and react more than the average person. When you perceive people’s intentions, you see all kinds of dark stuff which in turn makes you more sensitive and the cycle continues

  6. I partially disagree. Here's why; despite me having those empathic abilities, they didn't protect me at all. They did however allow me to recognize what was happening though. But that's it.

I believe Empaths are born that way. Abuse (especially from narcissists) has a very different effect on Empaths compared to others who aren't.

  7. I agree — some empaths develop sensitivity through trauma, but others are simply born that way: deeply intuitive and attuned to people, places, and the Earth itself. In 25 years of energy work, I’ve seen both — and sometimes both are true in the same person. Many who grew up in trauma have no empathy at all. Every soul is different — we have to remember we can’t paint everyone with the same brush.

  8. Definitely true. I am trying to learn how to hone in on the positive energy, but I still instantly pick up on the negative or try to figure out what is wrong. I guess because I want to make sure it's a safe space before proceeding. LOL!

  9. Yup.. This is definitely right. I feel like I can read people's minds just about. I first noticed this in my early twenties, I went to jail for a few months during a time of turmoil between the races and I could tell every time something was going to happen. I would try to warn everybody and they thought I was nuts until it came true so many times that they began listening to me.

  10. Nope. I was born this way. I also feel positive energy as well. I grew up in a good home. No abuse no neglect and was predictable. I've never known an empath who acquired their abilities through abuse or unpredictable family. But I have been able to read Teal Swan's energy as someone who is attention seeking. Who loves the attention and who has a grudge against men. Im pretty sure her abuser was a male.

  11. Once thee empathy evolved, thee attention becomes aware of focus. Not regressing in feeling requires focus on those attuned in spirit. Negative ppl R rarely aware of thee spirit. Spirit rarely wants 2 feel negative.

  12. When someone I love tells me,over the phone, about someone cool they just met, I can immediately tell if that new person is "good" or "toxic/unhealthy" to be around. Having ner met the person, talked to them, knowing any details about them, or being in the same space. Each time Ive been proven right, over many years. The energy I feel from others & my intuition are so spot on when it comes to me or my loved ones. Is that a trauma response, a gift from God that I was born with, or all in my head?

  13. Empath here with very happy childhood. And excellent parents. Felt very safe, heard, cherished as a child. I wish everybody could get to enjoy that feeling in life at some point.

  14. Okay hi happy new year I have a question to all empaths here, I'm a male empath, and something strange has been happening lately, I've been doing the mental and emotional work, yet since the start of this year why I don't know, I can't logically explain it, my previous partner that I was with which was for 5 years is in a one year rebound relationship, and for sometime now I could feel here thoughts and emotions I don't know if this is a soul tie, I'm feeling very emotional, I don't know if I'm losing my damn mind or what yet she is also an empath three days ago, I felt extremely sexuallly active but the moment I close my eyes its me and her, yet after that moment I stop picking up her energy, it's just like today it's slight like Wtf is happening I've never had anything like this before, how do I break this and come back to myself. When I close my eyes I see her, can someone help me out please 😩😩😩😩

  15. actually, till Swan is completely wrong about empaths, and if we had a world where true and genuine empaths were being listened to, and actually led by, we would have a healthy holy and humble world.
