African Spirituality means the Black Man's way of life. That way of life is based on our traditions which differ from country to country and region to region. That's natural because the way of life is determined by the environment and the challenges it throws to each society. 5 years later I don't know if the Maponga guy still has the same opinion but Spirituality or the Spirit of one's Ancestor which may possess an individual will NEVER change their sexuality – ie If a male is possessed by a female Ancestor's Spirit they will not change their sexual preference because of it. Likewise if a female is possessed by a male Ancestor's Spirit she won't change her sexuality because of it. What happens is that only when performing the Spiritual duties will the voice change as it will be the Spirit's voice and also the knowledge will change. After the Spirit leaves the body the host returns to their normal selves.
whenever there was an odd fish with homosexual tendencies that was dealt with appropriate traditional healing methods. So when we speak today of African Spirituality we can't judge those tendencies with the Western or Eastern way of seeing things. It's not about tolerance but what we Africans are. Period!

As a student of life who seek to understand the mind and behaviors of man; I come to acknowledge that every cause come with a side effects or to every action, there is opposite reactions. Whatever you practice or think in your life for a length time, you will be good at that or end up becoming that. Some parents "love" for their children makes their children to end up becoming things they insight them to be during their childhood. The earliest orientation children goes through build the foundation for the junior-adulthood and senior-adulthood. No child is born gay. They spirit of a boy child pretending to be a child or the spirit of a girl child pretending to be a boy child were inculcated into those psychopaths who are claiming to be "gay" at the earliest age of their upbringing(orientation). You don't see a male dog having an affair with another male dog, and this is also in the case of a female dog. Every living species in nature are in pairs(male and a female) with distinct orientation(sex), and this was the order of nature before men and women became unconscious of themselves and disconnected themselves from nature. The human species only think of themselves, and they are not better to the rest of the brilliant species in nature. As African, we have to exorcise the false consciousness the European and the Arabs have inculcated in our recent ancestors that has disconnected us from nature and great great ancestors. There were no such things as gay in the African Spirituality(way of life). This sister have the basic understanding of the African Spirituality and she need to do more research and connect herself with her actual root, in order for her to be an African Spiritual Healer.
