Anyone who says “you can’t prove it that’s a subjective experience” literally don’t understand how science works. If you take that line of reasoning seriously, then you have to throw away psychology, throw away psychiatry, throw away law, throw away lots of sociology, throw away some anthropology, and even throw away lots of medicine. Those disciplines all involve subjective reports and large group sizes of people experiencing the same thing.
So, therefore, we know NDEs are real and that they happen. If we just go on basic science, they exist and people experience them and they are not a hallucination.
The question then becomes: under which metaphysical hypothesis do they make more sense? The obvious answer is, whichever it is, it’s NOT materialism.
