“Near-Death Experiences: Hopes of Heaven, Horrors of Hell, and Suspicious Scientists” #WeirdDarkness
We look at the cosmic riddle of life and death… and the place in-between… the near-death-experience… from the view of those who have personally gone through it, those around them when it happened, and the doctors and scientists trying to make sense of it.

10 months agoI had an NDE in June 2022, I have AFIB and I was having a procedure that would shock my heart back into rhythm, I’d had this procedure many times before, but for some reason this time my body had an adverse reaction to whatever drugs they gave me and I was clinically dead for 14 minutes…. after they got me back, they had to put me in a medically induced coma for 5 days because my kidneys were failing, fortunately I pulled through 😊 All I remember is being on the gurney for the procedure and them giving me the drugs to knock me out….the next conscious thing I knew was waking up in a semi sitting position, my arms and legs strapped down, not knowing where the heck I was or what was going on….I freaked out, trying desperately to get myself untied so I could run lol…. Finally I saw my mom and my daughters standing there and I knew everything was ok and I was in the hospital… I was in there for almost a month recovering, I made a full recovery THANK YOU GOD 🙏🏻❤️ But I don’t remember anything from my time being “ dead “ or in a coma unfortunately 🫤 I’m just so thankful I’m still here and try to enjoy my life more and I MAKE SURE I tell the people I love that I love them EVERY DAY ! Thank you for all of your hard work Darren !

10 months agoGreat show, Darren. Such a fascinating subject. I think one possible explanation for NDEs might also apply to a certain type of alien contactee/abductee; a subconscious messianic (not in a pejorative sense) impulse or desire to affect a much larger audience in a much more powerful way than would be probable with their pre-experience voice. Or perhaps the reserve parachute of the divine spark animating someone who has suppressed and denied it prior to their transformative experience asserting itself. One detail worth noting is the fact that these experiences aren't ever seemingly framed outside of each individual's familiar context (i.e. a Kansas farmer with complete ignorance of Hinduism never has an NDE where Krishna introduces him to Shiva). I'm not sure what it means, except that it infers an individualized experience exclusive of themes or characters unfamiliar to the person prior to the experience, which a hard skeptic would probably spin toward implying that it's a purely internal, probably hallucinatory event.
