2 years agoThe founding of Dartmouth was on the back of a particular Indian. Samson Occum a direct decendant of Sachem Uncas of the mohegans my 8th GGF. He acquired the funds to start a school and was robbed of them by Wheelock. He lived a godly life and was revered and respected by Europeans. Many of them still saw him as a savage.
