Dr Melvin Morse – A Medical Doctor's Studies in Near-Death Experience Phenomena
ABOUT DR MORSE
Dr. Morse has always been involved with research, primarily having to do with human consciousness. He has studied near death experiences, the spirituality of death and dying, spiritual neuroscience, and spiritual sight, a meditative practice. He has published ground breaking research on energy healing. He identified that humans have a “god spot”, an area of the brain that links them to the divine that is both within us and which we are a part.
His primary interest has been working with grieving parents. He feels an obligation to present these sacred stories of encountering a loving god at the point of death especially for those struggling to comprehend the loss of a child.
ABOUT IANDS
IANDS is a membership nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization with a mission to advance global understanding of NDEs and related experiences through research, education, and support. We envision a future in which all people embrace near-death and related experiences as a source of meaning and inspiration for a better world. We believe NDEs can transform an individual’s life, influence the sciences, and embolden society. Today, IANDS engages in far more than research and has members from around the world. We invite you to consider becoming a member of IANDS. To learn more about near-death experiences, visit iands.org.

What is an NDE?
A near-death experience (NDE) is typically a profound, life changing, intensely emotional experience that usually occurs during a clinical crisis and has common characteristics and aftereffects. It is not a dream, hallucination, or mental illness (Greyson, 1983). There are no predictive variables to identify who will have an NDE. They happen to people of all ages, religions, socio-economic groups, cultures, educational backgrounds, and belief systems. They occur under a variety of circumstances such as accidents, near-drownings, illnesses, combat, surgical procedures, and childbirth. Following an NDE, experiencers (NDErs) often display some common aftereffects. Research has established a set of common NDE characteristics and long-term aftereffects. Theories used to explain near-death experiences in purely physical terms have been proven inadequate by NDE researchers and others.

3 years agoI'm happy to see Dr. Melvin Morse on the circuit again. He was a leading researcher in the NDE phenomenon plus the 15 years of study. Thank you Dr. Morse and
Dr. Raymond Moody for all of your work in the research, findings, and discussion. The world is a better place bc you've helped 1000's probably 10's of thousands come to terms with their encounter with the spiritual realm/dimension. 🙏

3 years agoRather than “are these experiences real” because they obviously are, it is perhaps better to ask are they a figment of the mind, or an experience of an external reality?

3 years agoWhen you think about it, we are here living, breathing, and taking our existence for granted. That alone is mind-blowing. To that point, why wouldn't an afterlife be hard to accept?

3 years agoGood episode. I think humanity is entering a new phase of the Near Death/Past Life Experiences. The past 10-15 years has been a flood, then a tsunami of NDE's across the globe and no end is in sight. (😊) It's starting to sink into the human consciousness and people are really beginning to see these are real and aren't going away. Medical institutions around the globe all recognizing the validity of these experiences, and everyone is starting to come around and now the change is really starting. Just like before the tsunami hits. The surface water backs away for a brief moment and it all starts to rise and flood in, and it's making even more sense than before. Thanks Dr. Morse and IANDS!

3 years agoFrom Wikipedia. BTW— I’m not surprised crud buckets such as mlmyhre are here in YouTube comments senselessly defaming people.
The quotation: The step-daughter who made the allegations against Morse & his wife, was later proved to have lied on the witness stand in a previous case, which resulted in her sister spending a year in juvenile prison.[16]

3 years agoI don’t believe there is life after death. I know there is.
I speak from personal experience from communication with my girlfriend and soulmate after she crossed over.
It was overwhelming the amount of communication I had with Terri . Much of it by direct intelligent response to questions. We were very close and very alike and our souls were intertwined. This makes it a lot easier. A lot easier for openness to signs and such.
I get a little perturbed with people that say well you’re just imagining it. Did I imagine having breakfast this morning? Do you know what I had because you weren’t there? My point is that people have experiences and it’s not up to others to tell them that they are crazy. I know better. Don’t let anyone tell you your personal experience didn’t happen, because they weren’t there. Namaste.

3 years agoHow wonderful, I remember reading Dr Morse's book many years ago which had such a profound effect on me and would love to hear more about his actual study, I wonder where part 2 of this talk is as he's only just getting started.
